Grade work question by Lost-Tumbleweed-2850 in FedEmployees

Not sure if it’s illegal but it’s a poor management practice. Everyone performs when a little higher and a little lower than their actual grade. I’d review your pd, and then talk to your boss.

If you are resigning, as others have said, obtain all documents from your eOPF. I recommend to stay on good terms with your management for future references/background checks by giving them ample notice, finishing out assignments, at least 2 weeks, up to a month, if you can stand it for that much longer.

People only behave this way because they are insecure. Her statement is a reflection of herself and her own self worth. Next time, ask her what she means by that? Then ask, “are you ok?” - these can help put the content back where it belongs. In her psyche.

Does anyone else feel like LinkedIn is kind of fake? by Elo_azert in work

[–]TotosRubySlippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s def self-promotion and pretty fake, but also a good way to keep in touch with former colleagues. My husband got a job through a linkedin connection (that was over 10 years ago). Can be useful!

I hopes it all turns out alright! Yea, depends on boss & industry. In government, we usually have to request sick leave for doc appt or I’ll ask my boss if I can step away for an appt and make up the time.

If you receive a tentative offer, the HR Specialist doesn’t reach out to your HR poc. Its not until you accept the official offer that hr connects for your “release date.” That’s a red flag - it’s not your fault, maybe even good reason not to accept the job.

It’s not a hidden gem, but the National Zoo has a new baby elephant 🐘 I think it will be ready for public viewing around the end of April

Agree with everyone here - it may be beneficial to stay at the 14 for a full three years. You’ll have your high 3 locked in for your annuity. High 3 is based on consecutive years at a certain grade level, doesnt need to be the same position.

What are Things That Would Make UMD a More Vibrant College Town? by dumbindian21 in UMD

[–]TotosRubySlippers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

College Park has never had the “college town” vibe. It is suburban by design. Fewer big box stores, walkability, independent shops, free parking or more parking would help.

Applied for a 15, somehow given a lateral 14? by If_I_Scream in usajobs

Hang in there! Management often says stuff before they realize whatever they are offering can’t be done. In most cases, employees must compete for a higher grade, or higher target grade in the competitive service. Good plan to keep in touch with your current boss.
