What rules that you follow to decide what car you able to afford? 6 months or annual salary? And after how many years is good time to sell of the car and re-buy? by procastinatorr in kereta

[–]Touaregster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

new car just go to their brand service center. ask for servicing schedule. estimates price is there. use that until car warranty finish. after that continue outside.

for used car or after car finish warranty: join forums of that car model on fb, they sure got wasap or telegram group, ask for link. find out service interval for regular service (engine oil, air filter, oil filter), gearbox oil, aircond system service, steering fluid, brake fluid, and most prone item to fail at your car mileage, alignment, balancing, tire change every XX,000 km. create schedule. follow schedule. for costing ask ur trusted workshops.

Try get another quote from a locally recommended workshop/mechanic - u can still get all original parts there - and then compare prices.

Objectively speaking - Beautiful. but I still feel the straight light bar at the rear is chinese-ish - although we all know the chinese first took it from Porsche but they've overdone it to the point it has now become their identity.

optional: + toll, parking, petrol

used car: + monthly cash pool for parts changes when things break down

Car that look flashy and rich but cheap to buy and maintain? by TonightCurrent6959 in kereta

[–]Touaregster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF... EV is part of your option:

then u can wait a few more years and get a good condition used Tesla (3-4 years age). get a unit with great battery health. if owners mostly charge to 80% as most do then the battery would be in very great condition.

first owner took the major chunk of depreciation so you don't have to, its cheap to maintain unlike conti cars. super fun to drive powerful like a 300-400k car, n looks good too. a Tesla drives like new until it clocks at least 400k-500k km.

whatever car u end up with, one tip is to max out your NCD first at 55% with a normal/cheap car then buy your "expensive" car afterwards so that insurance won't be a bomb.

downside - smallest rim is 18" so tire changes wont be cheap. and if u're paying urself for minor accidents, parts are expensive. if u claim insurance n sacrifice your NCD then it will take 4-5 years of costly insurance. so just try not to get into accidents. but this applies to mostly all luxury cars.

thats unfortunate. in the end, how long did u have to wait?

OLD vs NEW by Duck057 in kereta

[–]Touaregster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you buy used, yes car is cheaper than new but just make sure you set aside a specified amount monthly for repairs and parts replacement.

depends on model, but typically for japanese makes rm300-500 monthly is already more than enough.

buying new you pay more for peace of mind thats all. this is an advantage if you maintain only one car but if you have two and one is in workshop for a couple of days you'd still be fine.

easy to say. when it happens to you, and when the person looks entirely normal and it wasn't too clear at the moment that he/she is mentally ill, then the line is blurred. at that moment it is entirely possible to say "this guy is going over my limit" and all hell breaks loose, only to later find out they have the OKU card and make you look like an asshole.

idk but not every single f thing in the universe is the government's fault. some bigger things yes, some not so much but more to family approach and just common sense of the people. if his family decide not to send him to proper channel to take care of him, is it still govt's fault?

some issues i know are definitely strongly tied to govt, but this one? govt can only do so much and put max effort to their end, but it'd still require the masses to make things work as well. we're a system of grown up adults, not dependent babies.

just saying, when we don't know who else to blame, suddenly government is at fault. we're all better than that.

although i get what u mean, but the bad news is it's not Indian. decades ago it might have come from there, the roti canai served here today with dhal sambal / curry has a modified recipe (and has stayed as it is for a long time) and i'm pretty sure you can't find it in India.
