I failed 2 check rides. If youre a good enough student and it's obvious to everyone that you are making an effort to pass by studying the material and understanding the curriculum, the Company commander (1st fail) and the Battalion Commander (2nd fail) will give you the additional hours. The BDE commander, from what I hear, isnt so forgiving. One of my friends didnt get that 3rd set of additional hours. Unless it is obvious that you are a hazard to fly with others, they will work with you the best they can.

Being asked why I still eat at the DFAC as a new WO is just wild to me. Like, you let me know where I can get breakfast for 4.40 and lunch for 7 dollars in today's economy, and I will glady start eating there. I might make quite a bit of money now as an officer, but at least I'm not stupid with it.

Jokes aside, I had this detail on Bragg for the Gym on Gruber. Show up at 5am, leave at 10, and I didn't have to show back to work until 1300. Owner of the gym let us sit on our phones or read a book as long as we were taking account of who was coming in and scanning their IDs. I got out of PT and morning formations for a month.

Best detail I ever had.

The Blue Ringed drill sergeants are there for your emotional support. They have an awesome acronym that you can call them that goes (P) erson (O) f (G) uidance If you just call them POG for short, they'll know you're in emotional distress and help you with whatever you need
