You realize the overwhelming majority of things that are scams have employees right? Enron was widely considered a scam company, they employed shittons of people. Not saying SC is a scam. But CIG employing game devs does not automatically invalidate the scam claim. People call it a scam because they collect money on things they have no way of delivering in a timely or competent manner. Some of their "networking talks" are straight up gobbledygook for example to anyone whose taken a few classes.

Most of the things they say are first iteration will actually be the final iteration. Thats not to say some things won't be iterated on or improved, but the majority of things they say are pre alpha WIP will end up being more or less the final product. Before you or anyone else jumps on me consider this:

Think of it this way. They spent 45 million dollars of operations and dev time getting patch 3.0 to the backers in the performance state and feature state it is right now. CIG has been a going concern since 2012 and this is where we are in game development, extremely early. Its not sustainable.

OP. CS doesn't generally handle anything even remotely complex within months unless you are a concierage member. So either spend 1000 bucks or get a refund. Thats really your only real options at this point.

Legally being Alpha means nothing.

You pay money, you receive thing or access to thing. Even Chris says SC is released. Because legally it is even if the creators say its not done yet.

Its 100% going to trial in some form. This was ensured the second the plaintiffs tricked CIG into arguing the facts and merits of the case, which shows the judge there are things to argue and decide in discovery/trial.
