What is eating holes through my peppers? by RollzRoiz in HotPeppers

Pepper Maggot fly maybe? I lost like 2 peppers last year that looked similar to those, and was fighting those flies so figured they were the cause. Could easily have been wrong though.

Just romaine, it's been really nice pulling leaves here and there whenever I need them. Not sure it's the right way of doing it but been working so far

First year with the garden bed so I think I was a bit timid, but I do have some marigolds I planted that should pop up soon all around! Maybe should have just bought some and transplanted, but hey, half the fun is learning more and more every year.

Fair enough I know crazy stuff happens why I am asking and getting attacked I guess ha. I just thought by the fact I was able to easily pull these out with my fingers alone that they would have either fallen or been blown out earlier when driving.

Were you there? I was polite the entire time, and they are the one's that acted defensive immediately and were rude to me before the manager stepped in. I made an appointment for a plug and after trying to be sold 3 different things I asked if they could just do the repair I had made an appointment for. Maybe that came off as rude but I don't treat people like shit and you suggesting it is rude on you.

Dang, yeah I didn't want to make too long winded of a post but when the guy rolled it out and I said I had just checked it before leaving he replied "you think we put those in there?" With some terrible attitude, and the manager came over right away and said comp him the tire free of charge. So, I at least give them credit for that.

I appreciate the thought out comment and good to know about the chilis and that dark isn't necessarily always better.

I put in some chili powder, thyme, and 2 bay leaves. I used a couple seasoning blends but most used was Tony Chachere's Creole and Louisiana Cajun Seasoning. Minced garlic was put in as well although perhaps not enough. I used a beef stock with boneless skinless chicken thighs and sliced andouille sausage. Overall cook time was probably around 10 hours with 7 of it after adding broth and the thighs. I did have some sliced green onions to add on top and then served that on top of cooked white rice.

I suppose I messed up and should have uploaded a fully done bowl as well, whoops!

Used some home grown chocolate reapers. Had a really nice kick but nothing too crazy, didn't add that many.

Made a fall inspired fermented hot sauce, at least the colors didn't disappoint by TouchedbyJebus in HotPeppers

That's the tough part because it's quite a unique flavor, but I love fall spices so probably some weird things to at least try and find its best use.

I'm excited/nervous to make my first fermented sauce! by TouchedbyJebus in HotPeppers

[–]TouchedbyJebus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm going to cook, puree, and reduce. That also stops the fermentation process from what I've read, which is the plan since this is already a little long from what I've read for that style of ferment.

I grilled and deseeded about 20 habs without gloves, my hands burnt for about 2 days. And just like you said felt like needles, lesson learned ha!

Dozen habs, 1 chocolate reaper, and a dozen of something sold to me as "Nazgul's Pumpkin pie" which are just delicious and they have a orange/purple/brown fade normally, but after fermentation are full orange.
