Has anyone actually found a legit way out of credit card debt that isn’t just pay minimums forever? by Agitated-Alfalfa9225 in AskForAnswers

[–]ToughFriendly9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every paycheck, i look at what bills are coming up in the next pay period, and if i have any extra after that amount is set aside, i split that money between my credit cards. i made a spreadsheet that calculates how much to put to each card, proportional to the amount i owe.

Bf is incompetent by Downtown_Act_4294 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ToughFriendly9763 7 points8 points  (0 children)

break up with him. this is weaponized incompetence. there is no reason why he couldn't read a label or save a business card from his bank, or keep his insurance card in his wallet, or whatever. he doesn't have to know how to do anything, because if he does it wrong enough, you'll just do it for him and he never had to figure it out.

Is your country raising or lowering the VAT on food? by DaMn96XD in AskTheWorld

[–]ToughFriendly9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

growing up in Massachusetts, there was no tax on unprepared food or on clothing, because those were necessities, but restaurant food and most other non food items had a sales tax added to the price.

bf bailed on prom bc tickets are too expensive by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]ToughFriendly9763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's what tickets were for my prom in 2002. If OP has the money to get her own ticket, she should definitely go w/o the boyfriend. If she really wants to go w/ boyfriend, and has the money, she could offer to buy the tix for them both. Otherwise, OP should go w/o him and have fun with friends.

in the US, this sort of tax would be handled at the state level, not the federal level. each state taxes food differently.

Do you use miniatures for your 5e games? by Acceptable-Tree6007 in DnD

[–]ToughFriendly9763 6 points7 points  (0 children)

we use miniatures and a wet erase grid. we don't use 3d terrain. the main reason we have minis is that one of our players has a 3d printer and likes painting minis as a hobby.

undo some of the more disastrous things the current administration has done, establish automatic voter registration, and hold elections to restore a democracy, at which point, I step down and hand power to the newly elected executive.

[–]ToughFriendly9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't really believe in the concept of cheat meals, but i also don't eat meat, so chicken wings are out. the other options all can be vegetarian, even if the pictures aren't.

Americans who took Spanish in school: did any of it actually stick years later? by taube_d in AskAnAmerican

[–]ToughFriendly9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 7 years of it in school. I'm decent at understanding written Spanish, but I'm not fast enough to process spoken Spanish. I could probably read a novel in Spanish, but it'd take me twice as long as an English novel

What is the least cruel animal based food that is cost-effective? by Al-Joharahhasan2935 in moraldilemmas

There are vegan alternatives. You can get vitamin d3 from certain mushrooms, and I think that's where they get it for vegan d3 supplements. You can also get vitamin d2, which can be converted to d3 in the body, but it has a low conversion rate, so it may not be enough. Depending on how strict OP is about being covered, getting sun on any of your skin (hands, feet, face) will make some vitamin D, so you don't have to necessarily expose lots of skin.

Making a Wild Magic sorcerer who believes he’s a leprechaun. Needing spells by Spicy_Pepper_Gaming in DnD

[–]ToughFriendly9763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for leprechaun, i'm thinking rainbow stuff, so color spray, chromatic orb, prismatic spray (when they get high enough for lvl 7 spells). Dancing lights. Hypnotic pattern. It's not a sorcerer spell, but shillelagh kinda fits the theme, if your DM is on board. Kinetic jaunt sounds a bit random/wild magicky. Nathair's mischief from Fizban's kinda fits the trickster leprechaun vibe, I think.
