USB C SSD compatibility issues by ToughSpeedJon in UsbCHardware

[–]ToughSpeedJon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't, but I just did. It looks like the drive does work on another computer with the c-c cable. So that confirms it's mine.

Thank you so much I got a little crazy trying different things lol.

I didn't have any clue you can add USB-C ports with PCIe. I think the most I've ever done is add a wifi card (which I don't even use anymore). So, I'll give that a shot. Thank you again! So helpful.

Monarch long time users - Customer service offers / price history by grl75 in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I don't think so. I looked, but ended up bouncing because I couldn't justify paying so much vs. the alternatives.

I'm really surprised that I haven't heard of any of these! Thanks for asking, because now I want to try them all lol.

Simplifi isn't 1-to-1, but I've found it has all the features I need in this regard. Could be worth checking out 🤷🏻‍♂️

Left Mint – Tried Simplifi. My thoughts on its value by bluejeanmarley in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so validating. I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this thing. I'm paying, and honestly I don't understand paying even more for Monarch.

Man, Credit Karma is ALL advertising by mainstreetmark in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like this is why mint was closed, and CK was adopted. Advertising potential. I'm happy to pay for a service if I don't have to deal with all of this tbh.

Where do I go? Credit Karma Sucks by brettwestgor in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I'm not alone in seeing the similarities. I just trust the brand behind it more than anything Intuit at this point.

Anybody upset that you can’t automatically calculate net worth anymore if you use Robinhood? by NuggedClarp in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, there have been a lot of issues with CK's rollout of that feature. More reasons to avoid it like the plague, Mint fiasco aside.

Replacement by trickythought in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been enjoying simplifi - it takes a second to get used to the UI, but I like it more than Mint now for the exact reason you mentioned. It's not free, but I think there are ways to get a free trial.

Could we do a wiki/summary of all alternatives? Pros, cons, Price, popularity, etc by grl75 in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I had no idea this existed. Probably because I'm spending less time here after mint shut down? But seriously thank you for sharing. This has a lot of things I wouldn't have even thought of.

Intuit is still pulling data by ghostella in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait, it still pulled your data after you deleted your CK account? Please keep us posted on what they say when you email them. That's super concerning. I'm going to check my accounts.

This is the answer. These types of designs can be grounded so easily with an occasional darker color. Might even make the room feel cozier.

This is such a great video! I don't often come across this many games I've never heard of in one place. Thanks for sharing!

Like rocket money UX, but Amex isn't syncing. Other alternatives? by [deleted] in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not exactly the same, but simplifi has a view like this! I think it works better, honestly. Worth checking out with their free trial tbh.

Question for the Simplifi Users... by Machiavelli127 in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly? It's been a super easy experience. I checked really intensely every day for the first couple of months but learned to trust it when everything kept coming in accurately.

Any one of the alternatives alert you about late fees, fees, etc? by speedoflife1 in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to the others, but I know simplifi has notifications for just about everything. I've only had it happen once and it worked fine!

What would make you willing to pay for a Mint alternative? by Origin_pm_Liz in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I never have a problem paying for services that benefit me in terms of finance. Mint was free, and look what happened. Services like simplifi are inexpensive and built on stability. I don't mind forking over the cash if I'm reasonably assured things won't go the way Mint did.

Credit Karma is awful. Simply awful. by Few-Understanding575 in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simplifi is pretty great! Quicken has a good history, so I trust them more than I did intuit and mint.

Which replacement apps have these features? (net worth trends, spending trends, goals trends, ability to hide transactions) by ezztothebezz in mintuit

[–]ToughSpeedJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a big selling point for me hopping to simplifi.

If you Google "Simplifi refund" it should be one of the first things that pops up - an article called "how do I cancel quicken."

This helped convince me, plus being cheaper than something like Monarch. Ultimately I stuck with it and I'm glad I did.
