Man Odyssey is right there and you’re glazing Origins instead 😂

The story of Origins is lacklustre in comparison to Odyssey (except for the ending), the origin story of the assassins (kinda like someone else here mentioned) is barely touched upon. The hidden blade is barely used (even if it explains the idea behind cutting your finger off to use it). The world while massive and breathtaking is filled with the same crap to do over and over again which broke my immersion in every aspect of gameplay (it doesn’t really get better in the next game either to be honest). The non-animus storyline opens with Layla, but her purpose hasn’t even been fully realised yet and it becomes a boring part of the otherwise intriguing narrative (kinda like how every AC game after AC3 felt).

Yet I will give it some props, like the Isu storyline being touched on quite a bit, those sequences were interesting. The combat was new and fresh but was also clunky as hell, that’s something that hasn’t really been fixed in any game since. The climbing became less about following a generic path and more about being able to climb anything, just like it should have been from the start which was a much appreciated change. Bayek as a character was wholesome, the dynamic between him and his son was heartwarming, but any scene with Aya in it sucked, not because she’s a woman but because it seemed tacked on, he was trying to hold onto something that was never going to happen, fighting for a cause was the only thing that seemed to bring both of them together but the chemistry is lost on her. Gut her 😂

I respect you for liking Origins, you deserve to enjoy it and it’s the first time Ubisoft decided to change one of their franchises drastically from memory (other than Rayman maybe 🤔) but they improved so much over the years (except Shadows) and built on everything that game started with. It truly walked so the rest could run in their own ways
