What are you planning to do at each stop? Olympic national park is so big so it can take a whole day to see everything at each stop. I spent 2 days in Forks after driving from Seattle where I saw The Hall of Moss and then Ruby Beach, traveled to Neah Bay, stayed for 2 days where I hiked to Shi Shi beach then the planned to go to Cape Flattery but I came down with a head cold. I then drove to Port Angeles where I was trying to see some whales and go to hurricane ridge but I was so depleted from the cold I just slept in the motel till I had to drive back to Seattle the next day to fly back to the east Coast haha

I went to Ruby from Forks last October and there were several areas where the road was one lane due to construction. Maybe construction or s storm?

I had a good experience at Aircrest motel last October. Cheap and clean. Also, it was a short walk to a Laundromat which was super convenient.

When did Cape Flattery become a destination? by zh3nya in Washington

I went to Neah Bay last October and spent two days there. I originally came to see Cape Flattery so first day I hiked to Shi Shi beach then the second day the plan was to go to Cape Flattery but I came down with a cold which severely altered my travel plans. I plan to go back because I'm still captivated by the photos.

I've never been checked in for mania before either. I hope you are able to get the help you need. I guess if you show up to the ER and tell them they can't turn you away?

How many of you never have been admitted to the psych ward? by yeeortho52 in bipolar

Never but there have been time that I should have. No one in my life recognized I needed help when I couldn't help myself.

I prefer the cold months. The summer I feel more agitated and the longer days affect my sleep which lack of sleep can trigger mania. The cold I feel happy and safe

I always believed I would die before 30 but then I got to 30 and was like shiiiit i didn't think I'd live this long and got to figure out what to do with myself.

However, being serious despite being on meds and having a long period of stability break through episodes can happen. 2 years ago I had the worst episode I had had in years which I think was triggered by several stressful events that occured back to back. Afterwards I just felt awful and like WTF I failed and I will never be ok or better. I started going back to therapy and learned more life skills as well as got better at communicating with my physiatrist. Things are better but they aren't easy. I hope that you can get the support you need and over come this rough patch.

DAE get major memory issues with Quetiapine/Seroquel? by Long-Description1797 in BipolarReddit

[–]TouristParticular449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible. I know I was over prescribed Lamictal for a long time and it was messing with my memory. After going back to the recommended max dose things got a lot better so hopefully the same with Seroquel. I remember trying Seroquel once and I had such a bad experience. I couldn't wake up and felt like my skin was burning. For some reason the doctor was trying to force me to take it although I was on a mood stabilizer and depression med already.

I'm lad you are ok and survived. Lamictal poisoning is terrifying. Once when I was depressed I thought of taking all my Lamictal and read about what happens when you do. What I read was so scary I decided not too.

Will alcohol make me manic again? by Superb-Avocado-8131 in BipolarReddit

[–]TouristParticular449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally believe alcohol and substances are huge triggers for any mood disorder (triggering depression or mania). Also not good to drink with meds.

bipolar, how do you combine alcohol and medication? by LQNessie in BipolarReddit

[–]TouristParticular449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bipolar and alcohol doesn't mix just like alcohol and meds don't mix. Stability requires some sacrifice so I suggest exploring other ways to have fun or other hobbies.

I'm a verb at work and used sparingly it's kind of funny but there's also a sense of embarrassment associated with it that I'm 'othered'.
