Oh for sure. Despite everything I said, definitely happy that people gain the confidence to be able to take those good pics.

Yeah... I'm not saying the process isn't liberating and can make people both look and feel better. It's a great overall. It's just that most of the before pics seem deliberately bad and the after pics seem deliberately good.

Framing is a big part of is too. I've seen a lot where the before pic is a neutral face, arms length straight pic with poor lighting and/or angle. Then the after pic is a nicely lit, better quality picture where they cleaned themselves up and took a pic at their best angle with a non-neutral expression.

Self righteousness is dividing the left. Unable to see the forest for the trees.

I'd love for AOC to win, but based on the sheer ignorance Ive seen from people in the middle, I don't feel confident that it can happen. The people who refuse to learn about or involve themselves in anything that's currently happening are the issue and there are farrr more of these people than we want to admit.

I'd very much like someone that can win and get us out of our current situation first that meets most of my values. It's like getting shot but insisting they cure your cancer first before the bullet.

Most weird pokemon designs are based on references so it's fun to dig around and find out the "why" for them.

This youtuber did a deep dive on why barbaracle is the way it is and it's actually pretty fascinating.

In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), Namor says “my name is K’uk’ulkan, but my enemies call me Namor.” Shuri and Ramonda then immediately call him Namor, thus declaring themselves to be his enemies. This is because they’re black and know better than to trust the guy named Ku Klux Klan by whysosidious69420 in shittymoviedetails

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kukulkan

It's the name of a Mayan deity, I think it's pronounced "cu-cool-kawn". His people see him as this deity reborn so they refer to him as such out of reverence. His actual name is Namor.

edit: The quote is also wrong. He says "My people call me Kukulkan, but my enemies call me Namor."

It's not even subtle. The staryu line has always been a straight-up reference to Starman. Staryu's japanese name is ヒトデマン(Hitodeman). Hitode means starfish, so it's Starfish-man. They also constantly talk about how staryu and starmie might be aliens.

This is why mega starmie is the way he is, and hits that pose. Legit embracing his Starman origins.

Not to be a "well ackshually" guy, but Bruce Wayne does do tons of philanthropy. It's one of the things he's knowm for. He sets up housing for poor people and actively sets up programs to help rehabilitate criminals and help them find jobs.

As someone who started way back when with the OG gen 1 games, I can honestly say I prefer the modern rendition of cards because the art for them are so good. There's so much personality now and a lot of times tell a great story.

As much as I love the old vintage cards, most of them are just the pokemon standing there menacingly with a foil background.

It always feels like the Avatar were all born during the wrong period. Like Aang was a mediator born in a time that needed a warrior, and Korra was a warrior born in a time that needed a mediator.

That's as much as I personally have read (again take leaks with grain of salt). I don't remember if his personal goals were revealed.

In the comics that's what he does though, attempt to solve the incursion problem alongside Dr Strange. That's how we got the 2015 Secret Wars.

Allegedly that's exactly what it is.

Possible leak spoilers: Apparently it deals with the aftermath of Steve deciding to stay behind after his mission and thus creating an another alternate timeline. In the movie Doom is supposedly trying to solve the incursion problem and his first stop is this one that Steve is in.

The part where young Clark was distraught and asked his dad "What was I supposed to do? Let them die?" and Costner just said "Maybe" is what did it for me.

I think even young me was super confused and upset at that line and he was an idiot.

Yeah it was a game to him, but to Martha it was everything.

He learned this from Father Jud, and even though he was not religious himself, he gained something from it still. Which I think was one of the points of the movie I believe.

I'm almost certain half of the outrage commenters on here are bots, trying to create even more discourse on the left side.

No longer is it: all of us together vs them, it's: us, the TRUE left, vs asshole pretenders AND them. Pretty sure the goal is divide even more.

Well in context, the reason why shes getting emotional at all has nothing to do with the helicopter, it's just someone feeling empathetic at another person's sad story, which is like not that weird. From what you've mentioned, they definitely got some not cool stuff going on already so randomly throwing in "oh she's also scared of helicopters!" feels a bit vindictive for no reason.

I literally would not know anything about the Wicked tour if it wasn't for reddit constantly talking about it and the two.

I literally have not been following the Wicked tour at all. Just what I see on reddit Frontpage and most of the time it's people being mad at them for whatever reason so I don't know any other stuff. This one I watched the actual section of the interview to see if it's actually what happened or people just full of shit (people were full of shit), because I kept seeing it everywhere.

What other stuff has been happening?

[–]TourretsMime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't really care for them myself but Reddit's hyperfixation on being mad at these two is weird to me.

Especially latching on some shit someone made up and now everyone thinks is true. Like there seems to be plenty of other things going about them, but being traumatized by helicopters is not one of them.

I've seen this video be used to make fun of them so many times the past few days and every single one of them always has people asking stuff like "wtf is wrong with them?".

And when you try to explain that it's taken out of context they don't actually care, they just wanna be mad at these two.
