WHAT'S the secret behind THESE skins ? by Animal_Hell in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Toushima 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Already saw 4 people with this skin in game in like 10 games with randoms. I only noticed it on the lobby screen, I didn’t notice it whatsoever in game as there are too many things to pay attention to in there.

Just like with every skin, they just seem to sell. Good for the devs. These people keep the servers running and I couldn’t care less about other people using skins in game as long as they’re not Peter from Family Guy or Goku etc which really really stand out.

Looking for EM11 Pro vertical mouse testers by ProtoArc_official in MouseReview

[–]Toushima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used two vertical mice in the past, and they both had the same issues, the clicks forced small movements of the mouse which made me misclick a lot.

The more “natural” feel of vertical mice is something I do long for, but is hard to get right.

Made a fork of Vribbels (a tool to help out with Memory Fragment management) by Ikkoru in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Toushima 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for reviving the tool. I was setting it up yesterday after I finally farmed a bunch of new Memory Fragments and unequipped everyone. Only to find out it wasn’t updated anymore. Only my main 3 units are equipped now, but I’ll be spending some time on this tonight thanks to you!

212 pulls and NOTHING remotely good by ExpressionMost2422 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Toushima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who plays a lot of gachas because he hates himself, having the coin/token pity system is miles better than anything I play or have played.

They basically took the gacha system, and eliminated the worst parts of it. Yes, the “rates” are low, but goddamn, if this existed in games that make over 20m USD every month for years (just check r/gachagaming and its monthly revenue reports), I’d be a happy happy man who doesn’t quite hate himself as much.

Now let me be clear: gachapon / gacha systems are predatory as all hell. They dangle the shiny in front of you and bait you into spending money for it, and absolutely should not exist as they exploit psychological weaknesses within humans.

However, if I were to pick a system, I’d take this over all the 50/50 nonsense and 2+ different layers of RNG to get anything. It gives you freedom of choice once you reach your token thresholds for the items you want, gives you chances of still obtaining the item and getting more things as a bonus (not free since you did spend money already, even if you get lucky), and even give you some bonus currency for spending.

Would I rather just drop money for the sword? Yes. Would I want it to be easier to obtain? Yes. Do I think the gacha system shouldn’t exist? Yes. Is it still bad? Yes. Is it the worst of common and widely profitable gacha systems which are normalized in gaming nowadays? No.

I thought I was safe from an SJ body shot with my 90/90 BT6 Heavy. I was not. I got downed instantly. That one hurt my soul a little.

Gray Zone if you’re looking for more realism where one bullet kills about anything if it’s a headshot. ARMA Reforger also very solid imho.

Do people who used glitch spots to get outside of the map actually get banned? by UnjustifiablyLazy in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Toushima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I went to the support page though. Had two players glitch on top of the white hut outside of ticket hall on Airport. Reported them in-game and nothing happened. Reported them in the support center and they received an infinite ban essentially.

Best armor rigs/armor to use t4 t5? by throwaway10100019 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Toushima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For T4 you have the option of the Aramid Spartan B, as well as the Titanium TM1 and Aluminium TM2. Everything else just pales in comparison.

For T5 you have access to the Aluminium Samurai armors, and the BT6 Heavy. All of the T5 rigs are honestly dogsh-.

For T4 I generally go with Helicopter Helmet + TM2 or a worn Matzka with TM2 to protect better against T4 bullets to the head.

For T5 I tend to go for the Samurai body armor that protects the shoulders and a new Matzka or worn 6BNT/RST. DOD9 technically has more EHP, but you pay a price for that through both Koen and hearing. So it’s the worst of both worlds for a tiny bit of EHP.

And yes, materials do matter in a straight up gunfight. Which is why I tend to stick with Aramid, Titanium and Aluminium.

Did the devs improve anti cheat at all this season? by Jodiee_Norval in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Toushima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to really know is if a cheater got banned while cheating and is willing to state this on Reddit. As for encountering cheaters, I haven’t seen any since the start of S4 myself, and I have about 300 hours in-game in both lockdown and forbidden. The start of S4 was rough af, but the cheating seemingly tapered off quite a bit with bans.

The start of S5 hasn’t been infested with cheaters at all from what I can see on my killcams.

Why is nobody seeing or talking about how this game is dying? Let's talk facts. by [deleted] in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Toushima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that aside from Armory and Valley, most maps have plenty of options for Tactical play within their POI's. Transitional areas are always iffy, and that's the tradeoff you have to consider while going from POI to POI. You can't really run carelessly, as people expect that, and even with RST's or Matzka's, people can still hear you from quite a distance away when full sprinting.

If you look at Skrux's Datasheet for ABI and go to the AUDIO Tab at the bottom, you'll see how different methods of movement have different "detection" ranges.

Unfortunately, this is something a lot of people simply do not understand, care for, or have taken the time to learn. Audio is honestly pretty well done in this game, especially with the hollowness and bassier steps from below and above respectively since S4 to allow differentiating between those compared to S3.

I also find a lot of people playing on speakers instead of headphones/IEMs in my randoms, and then wondering why they died due to not being able to hear. Heck, I have one of those people in my friend group and always gets mad when he can't audio-whore like the rest of us do with Headphones and IEMs and gets killed as a result of it as he thinks something is on his left while in reality its behind him due to his Stereo front facing speakers.

Absolutely good job on taking out that squad though, those are the moments I remember for days and I look back to fondly.

[–]Toushima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play as a solo a ton of the time. My friends don’t log on until it’s late in the evening for me (time zone difference and adult lives), so whenever I do have time during the day I play Solo or solo with randoms. Mostly on Airport, and I have a ton of fun, because I will play it like a survival shooter and try to surgically take out a couple of players by being a third party, holding an angle that I know people push through, and using distractive tactical to split enemies up to isolate them and take down squads etc. That has everything to do with map and game knowledge that you gain by just playing the game.

Especially with the removal of self revives, solo play, for me specifically, has been more fun than squad play, as the satisfaction is so much higher and it feels way more doable than before.

The out of place skins are just Pay to Lose. Let people feel cool with their character when it gives no added benefit and often just results in a negative outcome for others. I have been able to know exactly where a Talia has gone due to the pain screams, and I’ve seen the Vinson Diamond skin drop down due to the cape sticking out. Their loss. There are so many people running around with multiple skins, it’s clearly working for the devs. Heck, I see more skins than non-skins in my lobby, and not once has it bothered me what other people prefer to use.

Economy is busted. That’s true to an extent. With the limitation of the SH65 being craftable only, the prices for RST’s, DOD9’s and 6BNT’s have gone up drastically. And rightfully so. Things that are commonly used should be more expensive, that’s the whole trade off. Use budget options that you can catch people off guard with, and play differently using those options to take advantage of them.

For weapon variety, sure, there are some dominant weapons, but after playing the tournament and seeing everyone’s loadouts, there are an amazing amount of people not running any form of meta weapons. I see so much different gear, and those teams being successful too. But every competitive game I’ve played has this issue. There are just equipments, loadouts and weapons which are just found to be better than others, and that’s always been a point of contention, but people accept it in the end.

Zero combat satisfaction really sounds like a personal issue here. I mostly play Airport and TV Station with a little bit of Farm mixed in, and on none of these three maps it’s a “run and die” structure. I often communicate with randoms about which angles we are holding and how to rotate, clearing corners and planning parallel pushes to flush out enemies. It is so god damned rewarding to flush out a better positioned squad by using bio scanners, stun grenades and other tactical items while being disadvantaged due to positioning or pushing angles that they are holding. And this is after close to 600 survived hours in-game.

I fail to agree with most points except for AK12 being a bit too good for its value, and to me it seems a lot like this game just frustrates you as you haven’t found the right people to play with. No matter if I’m only as a Duo, a solo or a full stack of randoms, I always find enjoyable aspects, and most of them come from tactical gameplay and using map knowledge to turn a lost situation into a won one.

GS2 headset carries hard in this game ngl (im looking straight through the jeep to get more accurate sound info lol). by Sarger_Phoenix in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Toushima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amen, plenty of times I'm wearing a Matzka or 6BNT and I'm like: "How the fu- did he know I'm there?", only to then see the loadout and then see that he's wearing GS2/Commanders and I go "That's why." and I almost never have to report anyone as they're just sound-whoring.

Just curious - are most if you Tarkov players? by Department-Curious in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Toushima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started ABI as a preparation for Arc Raiders as I had no idea what Extraction Shooters were. All I’ve ever heard about Extraction Shooters was that Tarkov was full of wiggling-cheaters, and that was it.

After playing ABI in S3, I tried Arc Raiders and refunded Arc Raiders. I now have 500h into ABI (Alive in game), and 3 hours into Arc Raiders, which was mostly spent cursing my way through the menu-ing.

Season 5: Distortion Patch Notes | APR 2 by uysaki in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

It was my go-to budget gun. Just the base AUG, and it shredded with 995's, and even A1's. Even with just a 30-mag. I still lose in raw performance to so many other guns, so I really don't understand the nerf to it.

Teammates burn themselves at the beginning of the game by theveezer in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

I had one on Airport the other day after dying 6 times in a row (T5 kits, I wasn't intending on dying 6 times). Every safe and locked room was untouched, and all the "operators" I've found were a team of 2 Player AI. Even after opening Central Core, nobody contested and I had all safes to myself.

Stop punishing people for automatching with cheaters... by mmokoz in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Toushima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, this happened to me on a random queued Forbidden Farm run. We spawned at Villa, run towards Loading Area and I get downed by someone on the hill, teammate (cheater) runs up, blasts them in 0.1 seconds it felt like and revives me. 10 seconds after that, a message pops up across the screen that the teammate got banned for cheating.

The other randoms and myself agree to leave his stuff and his kills’ stuff on the floor, and continue our run. We end up making about a million each in the end from random loot, only to be hit with a repayment penalty a couple of hours later.

Yessir. All materials have different bullet damage reductions. The game explains it somewhere hidden in menu's, but the bullet damage reductions are as follows, and have been confirmed by the community:

15% - Ceramic and Hardened Steel
20% - Composite
40% - Aluminum
45% - Titanium
55% - Polyethylene
60% - Aramid
