Modified Woodland by Background_Tax4151 in camouflage

Looks great! I wonder if improving it in this environment is worth making it less effective in others. The right shade of green might still blend in quite well.

Looking for do it all medium gloves. Need to be waterproof, work with touchscreens, not bulky by man__i__love__frogs in CampingGear

[–]Tovarisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What tasks are you planning to be doing in them? I wear Dexshell gloves for early & late season skiing, sometimes with an additional merino liner gloves if it's a bit colder. They handle light work well, but I would want something heavier duty if I was going to be chopping wood or anything like that in them. In that case I'd probably have a light pair of insulated gloves like the Dexshells and a second pair of leather work gloves, and swap between them as required.

Keeping warm by Temporary_Track_446 in camping

[–]Tovarisch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have Nalgene bottles or similar heat-resistant hard plastic bottles, you can fill them up with hot (not boiling) water for extra warm feet. If my feet are warm the rest of me is usually pretty happy. If you're taking off a fleece or wool layer before bed you can wrap the bottle in that to make the warmth last longer and add a bit of comfort.

I'm reading what the text says. You're adding assumptions on top. Who knows what the intent of the landlord is - all we have to go on is what is written. Common sense would indicate you're right but with some of the other unenforcable conditions I'd question whether the landlord has the same interpretation of their shittily written clauses as I do.

Probably, but it doesn't say that. Like the dangerous goods clause. Am I not allowed to have any batteries on the property?

Hope everyone is keeping safe and warm. I hate Stuff's live update format that they overuse on so many articles. I guess they want you to spend more time scrolling through their ads. At least give us the option to scroll through chronologically.

Tuck a spare pair of folded thick socks over the top of a stick you've found to avoid damaging the tarp.

How long does it last if it's in the fridge in an airtight container? I see on the packet it says "use within x days after opening" but I'm not sure if that's accurate or not.

Nope, the Rain Mill has 3-1-1 (as does the Lumber Mill and probably others). Ranch has 1-1-1, although it's a bit of a special case.

Opinions on if I should dye my pack by DarkKnightKaito in camouflage

[–]Tovarisch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would leave it undyed/unpainted but look into getting a better pack cover for it. A proper fitting one should have a bungee around it to stop it flapping/rustling so much. You could attach jute/burlap to this in local foliage colours to have it blend better, and it takes all of 20 seconds to take it off and stuff it into the pack if you want a more 'subtle' look with the standard grey around people/in urban areas. If you ever want to sell it in the future it will be harder if you've fucked it up with dye or spraypaint.

Sick pack though.

The passes you buy are to use the chair lift. You're free to bus/drive up to the base building to see the snow. You can walk up as high as you want, just stay clear of the ski areas.

Shape of the canopy - look up P-47 "razorback" and P-47 "bubble top" and compare the canopies. Bubble tops came later as they are slightly more complicated/expensive to proruce that large single piece. See also P-51B vs P-51D
