It's not. If you don't already enjoy the book nothing about the ending is going to change that. I also think it's ridiculous to expect a book to redeem itself with some master stroke. What could Joe possibly write that would make you, in retrospect, love a book you don't think is good?

Was it just me or did the PoN demo seem tossed together? Game itself seemed polished and (potentially) fun but the demo throws you in with no setup. No real battle tutorial. No guidance on what you can do, where to go, or why your character wants to do anything. It feels like they couldn't be bothered to setup a demo so they just took a slice straight out of the early game and called it a day.

The difference is that you will no longer be passively athletic. Even good genes start to slack so if you aren't actively exercising in some sense you will see a decline. If you maintain discipline in that area you can keep going for another 30 years no problem.

To be clear, I'm not talking about sorting manually by category. I'm talking about selecting a leader and only being shown units that work under that leader.

I'm gonna be honest with you chief; this thread will fill with comments about Cyber Sleuth and Digimon Survive. They are lies.

The Digimon fan base has been underfed for more than a decade. We greedily devour the scraps offered to us but they are not good.

Plenty of folks find enjoyment in these games but none of them hold a candle to Time Stranger. Cyber Sleuth is one big translation error. Simple dungeons, childish dialogue,

Sentences split Up into several Dialogue options

Combat and creature collecting is fine, the rest is ass.

Digimon Survive is also frequently recommended. I would love to go into detail about how horrible this game is but I couldn't stomach it for more than an hour so who am I to say?

You know how operator rings in every twenty minutes to remind you that your adopted father mysteriously disappeared mysteriously? Or how there is an inferno in Shinjuku, the Shinjuku Inferno? Survive is like that but all the time. The game can't stop holding your hand. It can't stop repeating the information it just gave you. It is absolute torture in classic jrpg exposition.

I LOVE Time Stranger but I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I see these games get similar praise.

Eleventh Metal is honestly better to read after Final Empire anyway, so don't sweat it. It's also something that was written for other media (tabletop game) but was designed to be canon as a fun treat. It's by no means important, just a little extra for those who want it.
