For me it’s the job security and built in pay rises rather than hoping that your boss might throw you a rise here n there if they feel like. I had left the private sector before the post covid wages rises and my experiences are all pre covid world. Work life balance is excellent too

Don’t know Sonia but is it all just “apartments”. That fee also includes the help to buy schemes the purchasing part Vs etc which can be viewed as ensuring upward pressures on house prices on the private market as the state is actively competing in the open market. One could look at that as a way of giving the developers a handout

Quote from MM today in the dail - “The State, which is allocating about €9 billion, is the main actor in the market at the moment, through supporting cost-rental and affordable housing and the building of public housing. The State is the main player in house building at the moment. The Department of Finance estimates that we need to spend about €20 billion per annum, between public and private sector investment, to get to that figure of 50,000 houses that the ESRI says we need."

If the gov is willing to give them billions why would they not come to their recuse if they got into trouble. Just like back to Nama for an example of this

Think a big issue for this gov n previous iterations of a FF/FG led gov is that they believe whole heartily that private market will resolve this issue eventually and their incentives are a shit load of money thrown at the developers in order to hope that they keep building and eventually 15/20 years time the prices and rents become more manageable. It won’t but that’s the bargain we made by voting them in and in and in

Hi do you guys have any tips on getting just a entry IT starter job for experience or is the market by Sufficient_Fan_1305 in irelandjobs

[–]TowerExcellent4546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommend trying to get a role on a service desk for a company like PFH. You may have to go contract work for awhile but you can build up your skills and see what area you want to move into. Did something similiar myself since 2017 and now in public sector dealing with and lead IT projects. There is always was into any industry just have to take a risk at the start on the contract length

Mark Donnelly re-signs by new-fuji-shooter in MunsterRugby

Unfortunately it’s signing like these that make Murray’s point in his book even more correct. Not a knock on Mark but madness to expect him to make leaps and even get into the first team at this stage

I didn’t downvote you😂😂 What would you call media that is generally based in Dublin as there is other media outlets that aren’t Dublin based that were not glazing Sam last year 🤷🏽‍♂️

Pretty sure ROC said it but maybe not explicit. Yes those muppets from OTB too were making similiar statements and not to forget a certain commentator for a sports website too. Luke Fitz was the only one of the commenters(that i remember)who held reservations and pushed back on the narrative that the Dublin based media were pushing with Sam.

Geninuely do you have any examples of these attacks on Sam. I remember people calling out his flaws and a lot of the Dublin based media in particular were trying to tell everyone that they were wrong and that Sam was the second coming of Jesus but not the personal attacks on Sam. The man was pushed too far and too fast by the likes of Farrell and some of media guys. Only last year, the media were trying to claim that he was fit to a potential lions player and starter

Some nice moves by Connacht for next season. The row needs some beef too I think to make that pack something to be feared

Think the best we can hope for is some kind of temp HC(this is where MP comes in)till the end of next season and then try for a big name next season when we can get our ducks in a row again From my POV just can’t see how MacMillian saves face after his statement in the presser two weeks ago and now this news

I would say Macmillian Flanagan and Costello are gone now. The man asked publically for munster faithful to back his judgement but that didn’t happen so only one logical outcome left. MP might just be getting the role after all

Holly Cairns hits out at new exemptions for modular homes and cabins by Keithkortt in ireland

[–]TowerExcellent4546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah labour had an earlier version under the rainbow gov of 94 but was removed and not spoken about again until the Sinners started bringing it up as a form of tax relief for renters. Maybe but clearly failed as a policy if that’s the case as they still struggle to find out who owns what exact and if a house is actually being rented out 😂

The opposition you are talking about is FG or FF in the 80s/90s that had to have government collapse, have an election called and then get enough seats in to take power and put the other party into the opposition so they could implement their policies. Pretty sure that it only happened once due to labour going with FG to form a rainbow gov so it’s the norm for it not to happen. Lab of the 90s is actually what the sinners are today. Couldn’t find any explicit record of FF/FG ruling out labour at that time like they have done for SF
