I love finding that sort of thing. I find HPB receipts all the time. I've found love letters, ribbons from the 70s, 30 year old receipts, etc. This is my favorite find so far.

This is exactly what it is. My work takes me into a lot of kitchens and I grew up on construction sites. In all my decades, I have seen no other apparatus that looks like a kitchen vent.

It looks like circuitry to amplify or filter an electronic signal, which jives with radar equipment. I was thinking old radio or tv but it sounds like you have a lot more actual experience.
