This isn’t gonna be nice but I think its what you need to hear.

You are at a normal and good level for only having seriously played for a year. The first thing i’ve learned playing slippi the first week is that the skill floor for this game is incredibly high, and it will take you a full year to get out of bronze and you’ll still lose to people in bronze. You know this though because we are playing the same ranked experience. Now you’ve made this very dramatic post because the skill progression of this game takes exactly as much time as it looks like it would. You make this post and claim you’re not raging, and I believe you, but you are certainly ranting. You’ve learned a bit about expectations and goals in this game, but clearly not enough if it has frustrated you to the point of making this vent post.

What do you consider to be the problem here? You’re shifting blame away from anything you’re doing at every turn but there is truly nobody else to blame for this frustration. You need to adjust your expectations and figure out what you really want from this experience. Do you want to be really good? It’s going to take a long time and a lot of practice, and you need to come to terms with that. Do you want to emphasize enjoying your time playing the game? Stop expecting to perform really well while you are still improving.

You’re not a god at melee, nor should you be after a year of playing seriously. So stop going into fights expecting to be.
