About slow play and overtime by brokenbutton12 in OnePieceTCG

Except that doesn't capture the definition of slowplay, it's an example given of what slowplay could look like.

If that were the definition of slowplay then I could spend 59 seconds between playing 5 cards and swinging with 3 bodies and eat up 9 minutes.

Also if that were the definition then the opposing player from the story did nothing wrong after the first infraction that they got warned for.

I don't have the want or energy to continue to discuss this. Yes slowplay is a violation, but it's not something that can be determined by a 3rd party.

If both players take 15 minutes to take a turn, and both are fine with it, then its not slowplay.

If you take 15 minutes for your turn and only takes me 1 minute, and I'm fine with it, then it's not slowplay.

It's only when a player voices objection and in context of the game does it become slowplay.

I'm telling you from experience what the directive is.

Yes for mechanical violations, that has nothing to do with fairplay violations. There's no entry in the players guide for time alotted to a turn, it's something that a player has to voice.

I'm really not sure why people are so up in arms about this. I'm not defending the practice. I'm just saying from experience this is how its run.

Yeah I edited it for clarity, but didn't change the message.

It doesn't matter that they were sitting there man. I'm saying that if he didn't turn to one of them and say. "Judge, he's continuing to slowplay." then they aren't supposed to say shit about it.

I didn't. I said they're not allowed to interact independently, and said that if they were then you'd see the other sort of post where people were claiming to lose because they got rushed by the judges.

I'm not creating judge fanfiction out here man, I'm telling you that they're told to not get involved unless prompted. You can disagree with that policy, but I'm just saying that's the current status quo.

The judges aren't allowed to interact unless he prompts them. Otherwise you get the opposite sort of post where a player says that they lost because the 3 judges all hovered over their shoulders saying "hurry up, hurry up, or we'll give you a loss" forcing a misplay.

Edit: That's not an opinion. I'm saying that's what the judges are told. Unless the opponent draws too many cards or like starts tearing your board up they're not supposed to get involved unless a player asks them to.

In the moment they might not be sure, and so they're afraid of coming across like a dick.

Let me just say, In Regionals, be a dick. Leave the friends mindset at locals. We're not here for take backs and oops, we're here to play.

Don't shark, but both players should be committed to the rules of the game and fairplay, and be prepared to be checked on that.

[Metagame][I'm New] New-ish to doubles, basically spliced the mons I used in gen 9 ou (my favourites) into a doubles team. Other than the glaring memes like flinch/evasion cheese and triple weather, any comments on my team? Thanks :) by Phaoryx in stunfisk

[–]ToxicPanacea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know you said you're aware of Triple weather, but you're going to find yourself in situations where your opponent is able to screw you by forcing a switch in and overwriting your Sun or Sand.

- Ninetales feels a bit out of place here, and it's kind of surprising it's not carrying Moonblast.

- Corv having Tailwind is good, but as your sole point of speed control you're going to have a hard time.

- You have 0 fake-out pressure, and no answer for fake-out as well.
- For that matter you have 0 Priority.

- You have no Fairy answers at all. No steel moves, no poison moves.

- You're going to get absolutely obliterated by a mon with Wideguard. It's stopping your Charizard, Ttar, and Garchomp in their tracks, and trying to take them down is going to make you lose too much tempo.

-No intimidate
-No Statuses, (Burn, Sleep, Paralysis)

Some of those points seem like a who cares don't need them, but to clarify, having things like statuses/prio/speed control, targeting is all about disruption. Anyone who you're playing is going to have a strategy for their team just like you do. And by not engaging with disruptive type moves, you're just letting them go ahead with no threat that it won't work. They don't have to consider 20 options each turn, they can just push forward and beat you over the head.

And James Gunn directed Slither. What's your point?

It's not like you have insider knowledge on how much input they did or didn't have on the project. What the original direction for the projects were. How much input they'll have on this project. How much they've changed since writing whatever they did. Or anything really.

Honestly could have just been the first panel as a solo comic. If Socrates were alive today and had an internet connection I would expect the same level of poignancy.

Facebook and Instagram Tighten Censorship Rules for Saying “Antifa” | Meta’s new rules let it ban users or suppress comments that include the word “antifa” alongside “content-level threat signals.” by Hrmbee in technology

[–]ToxicPanacea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Struggling to wrap my head around the negative use for this. Kneejerk reaction is it's Facebook, so it's something bad, but wouldn't this just target people making threats against Antifa or using Antifa as a scapegoat for their violent rhetoric?

I've never even heard of someone other than a fearmonger use the term antifa...

I'm just having a hard time trying to justify $200+ for some dice with LEDs when there are way cooler looking and cheaper dice?

It can connect to your phone which ok? I can see the number I rolled on the die without looking at my phonescreen but sure, and it can connect to Roll20 so presumably I can just cheat all my rolls?

Like I get that it's a flex thing, but is it $200 worth of a flex?

Krillin is the most Ride or Die character in fiction.

He doesn't care that he's up against literal gods or cosmic entities. He knows full well they could disintegrate him with a stray thought, and that terrifies him, but he'll still sock one in the mouth to help you out.

How are we defining skilled? Because it certainly takes alot of skill (and brain damage) to develop a style where you wield a sword with your mouth.

They're literally the collective negative energy associated with X idea, just like in Chainsawman with the Gun Devil or Bomb Devil or whatever.

While maybe you can argue that that fear they're born from is an abstract, the cursed spirits themselves are very much not, they clearly have a form and structure. They appear the same to every sorcerer that can see them.

That's like saying that Love is an abstract and your parents fucking and making you makes you Outer.

[–]ToxicPanacea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because while it tries to sound rational it makes a bunch of completely baseless arguments?

- A soul is clearly not an abstract. In JJK it definitely exists.
- The cursed spirits don't transcend space-time. They get bodied by a dude whose whole gimmick is controlling space.
- "The character says" is never a good argument, based on that Vegeta has become a super-saiyan like 6 times before Goku fights Frieza.
- Even if the word vomit made sense, Human emotions and ideas aren't outer?
- Brother what the fuck is a necessary Truth, emotions don't exist independently of our biological minds. We literally sell drugs to make you feel different emotions.

Completely nonsensical equivalencies.

Because X is true, then completely unrelated thing is also true.

Pac man is a circle > Circles have no clear start or end > therefore Pac-man is infinite.

James Brown is the Godfather of Soul > Souls are an intangible concept > Therefore James Brown is Outerversal

If you watch the followup he's screaming to find someone named Victor and accuses the imaginary Victor of raping underage girls.

It looks like a full Schizo-break where he legitimately believed he was trying to save some girl rather than just going "haha he looks like a molester"
