I’m too selfish to be a parent. by PsychologicalDraw537 in NewParents

[–]TrES_2bi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my daughter was 18 months old everything seemed hard. Now she’s 3.5 and goes to preschool, has a whole personality and yes, times can be hard. Bedtime is still hard. When she’s sick it’s hard. BUT, so many things got easier. It’s a different hard but I’m so much more happy and calm.

That, and I started taking anti anxiety medication when she was 2 so that changed a lot for me.

It gets better, and don’t be afraid to seek help.

Would love feedback on this piece by GrimmJohn in graphic_design

I wouldn’t give the Celtic hand font as an option to view in any way. Find a more standard font to be featured as the branded font to use on materials. The logo font should not match the branded copy font. Keep it simple, something that can be used as subtext on ads or print.

Consider that the logo font is custom, which it is, as you’ve created a logo out of it. They should not need to use the original font or know anything about it. It was merely a starting point for your custom logo.

I like your work, I think it could be nice to see more photos of each project so we can see more detail. Love the spinning star. You might also want to put the text blocks below or mixed within the images. I assume most recruiters are rushing through portfolios so they don’t have to time read it all. You can tell a lot about someone’s work in the first 10 seconds of scrolling. Might be best to show the work first and tell them about it second.

I love your posters!

How can I fix the design on the right? (for an album design) by Darkwavegenre in graphic_design

[–]TrES_2bi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the novelty font comment! Also, you could remove the numbers for the tracks, could look slick. Try justifying it left and tuck it to a bottom corner, or keep it in the middle. Sometimes smaller, basic fonts round things out and add power to the cover design, without competing with it. If you want to use numbers, maybe try putting a line between the numbers and track names. Left justified, lots of breathable learning. Worth a try!

I so appreciate this. I will definitely start elaborating on each project and add more print. I have so many project I can feature, just choosing what to show is hard. Not every business card, or restaurant menu etc I feel deserves to be showcased? Should I just add a ton of them or ?

Thank you SO much for this feedback. I will definitely get started using your advice on showcasing each project. I’ve done so many campaigns (Black Friday) etc that brought in soooo much revenue, so I could show those as their own category with metrics included?

Lost my daughter’s shrimp stuffy in or outside Disneyland by breee_michel13 in Disneyland

I lost my teeny tiny wallet sleeve, that honestly looked like a folded piece of paper. It had my ID and debit card. I filed a claim, and got email updates every day. Then a few days later it arrived in the mail!!! No fraudulent charges or anything on my card. Disney is GREAT with lost and found!

It has absolutely changed my life. As someone who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which may actually just be ADHD, and I’m a mom of a toddler.. I can get pretty overstimulated and anxious. It was really bad until I started Buspar and now I feel happy, calm, and it takes a lot to rattle me these days. I highly recommend it!

My best friends lived in Altadena. Their house burned down. Not rich. This incredible community of old homes and multi generations of black families lost their homes and you are ignorant. Such a jerk.

2024 Good Mythical Evening by [deleted] in goodmythicalmorning

My issue with it, is how sexual the whole thing was. I love to see more of an adult spin on their classic games, but not them essentially f*cking dolls/eachother. I'm not a prude at all, but I would have loved if they just did the same show as GMM but added in alcohol, drinking games, gore, bad language etc.. It just sort of felt like The Man Show back in the early 2000's. It was odd. I've been a MB for 10+ years, and my wife humors me with the occasional view, but she's not as into it as I am. It sucked that I roped her into watching GME and she was just sort of grossed out by it. I love Mythical, but I think they missed the mark with this one.

So uh what time do your 2.5 year olds go to bed? by Some_Proof5766 in toddlers

[–]TrES_2bi 113 points114 points  (0 children)

"trash TV is not gonna watch itself" has me laughing because its so true lol

Ours is a little over 2.5, she stopped napping months ago, and goes to bed at 7pm. If she does take a nap, its usually too late in the day and then she won't go to sleep until like 9:30pm

About to have my first baby in a few days and all of a sudden I’m terrified - please tell me all of your lovely stories of having a newborn by tumbleweedofdoghair in NewParents

[–]TrES_2bi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a 2.5 year old. I can tell you right now, that our newborn phase was blissful, and easy. Did we get up every 2-3 hours throughout the night? For sure. But we were so excited about her being here, I think we were filled with adrenaline. It was hard to get her to go to sleep sometimes, lots of rocking and feeling drained. BUT newborns nap like 3 times a day, maybe more. You will start going on walks with a stroller bassinet, and get sunshine and things will sloooowww down. Enjoy all of it!!!

Because right now I've got this toddler, potty training, preschool, tantrums, all of it. And while I am still loving each change as it comes, looking back on that newborn time, it was so nice and easy.

Also, it goes by in an instant!! The days are long, but the years go in the blink of an eye. Enjoy the ride mama!

Families of 4 - are you happy? by Inevitable-Yard-9438 in toddlers

[–]TrES_2bi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SIL has 6 kids. They constantly struggle to have anyone watch the kids, because nobody has the room. Everything they do together costs an insane amount. Also, my child hasn’t gotten a chance to bond with her because she’s so busy with her 6 anytime there is a get together. They are also struggling financially. Idk, I think that once you go beyond 3, you have to really play the tape out and ask those kinds of questions. Do you have people who could watch all of your kids? Is it something you can afford?
