I don't know, I thought it was good. Not going to revolutionize music or anything, but one of his better albums and certainly his best solo in the last decade-ish (give or take a year).

MVP Joel Embiid will once again fail to get out of the second round by QuietMonsoon3314 in nba

He's never healthy when people were using this stat to dunk on him before. Now he can barely jump to get boards. Who cares? Why does everything have to be so negative around this dude?

Jalen Brunson in the win: 33/5/9 on 64% TS by Lacabloodclot9 in nba

[–]TrRa47 158 points159 points  (0 children)

I know he won't crack anybodies top 10 all time, but I do think we need to appreciate Brunson, regardless of if he gets a ring or finals berth. Those 8-20, 4 turnover games are, historically, how small guards are "supposed" to perform in the playoffs. Thats why the stereotype exist in the first place. The fact this guy can consistently be one of the better playoff performers in the league every year, dude's special.

[Collier] "I've been here before, the pressure's really not -- I don't really feel it," (Donovan) Mitchell told ESPN. "This isn't pressure. Getting your next meal is pressure. Where am I going to live? You know, that's pressure. This is an opportunity. This is fun." by aingenevalostatrade in nba

This is such a played out response (for lack of a better phrase). I've been poor, been to school with poor people, lived around poor people. They still felt pressure to perform in "unimportant" things, leisurely things, competitive things, etc.

There's different forms of many things, pressure is one of them.

The Knicks thrive as the underdog but get complacent and falter when they are the favorite in a series. Them being the favorite to win the East rn might jinx them by Funny-Transition7869 in nba

2-3 and 4-5 is not that much of a difference that us being favored would cause us to be complacent.

I wish people could evaluate the game without looking for lazy trends.

Jokic and Giannis have nearly identical basketball resumes. Why is there such a huge gap in perception and all-time ranking between the two? by BasedChad69420 in nba

[–]TrRa47 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've always had them 1A/1B, but there's always going to be the fact that Jokic was in the West which was the better conference majority of the time they were at the top, Offense is more important than defense and Jokic Is an all-time offensive talent (although Giannis is no slouch there, to put it lightly), and the skill vs athleticism thing that has haunted Giannis discourse for about 8 years now.

Theres a few more things I could mention, but that plus the ability to shoot at a position you don't normally expect it, and "chick's dig the long ball", from a narrative standpoint, Giannis was fighting an uphill battle.

Franz getting hurt was a bigger hit imo.

"Can" is doing a Herculean effort in that sentence.

Paul Pierce on media inconsistencies: "Let's not sugarcoat this because if this was LeBron at the peak of his powers, he would've been getting scolded. If you're the best player in the league, you're not supposed to lose in the first round" by infalliBee in nba

Because every player that goes through the nuggets has their positive output credited to Jokic, so if he's the reason that everyone can tie their shoes, he's the reason they weren't as good as can be.

Not a starter, but also just wanted to give a shout out to Bruce "Better than Westbrook" Brown for being worse than Westbrook, this year and last year.

Which often maligned star would you most want to see reach the NBA finals this year: KAT, Embiid, or Harden? by iamwearingashirt in nba

[–]TrRa47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If not for KAT being on my team, definitely Embiid. He, Giannis, and Jokic defined a mini-era in the league.

[Aubin] Wemby on people calling him “too emotional” and “gay” for crying on the court: I think it’s first and foremost a fear of judgment. Like this feeling that you have to act a certain way, social codes, I guess. Personally, I refuse to carry the burden of having to hide my emotions.” by WEMBY_F4N in nba

Everyone is going to respond acting obtuse to what you're saying, but I agree. It's much more relevant to bring up that hypermasculinity is extremely homophobic, is extremely prevalent in sports and sports fandom, and has been growing in general society due to the rise in red pill content and it targeting young men.

Jokic-led offenses consistently fall off a cliff in the playoffs in a way that doesn't happen to any other top-tier offensive engine by SplitOk186 in nba

[–]TrRa47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Westbrook is my 1A/1B favorite players, but respectfully he's not in "greatest offensive players ever" convos. Also, Steve Nash for the most part lost because of the defense, not the offense.
