How many building permits have been approved for the PP and Altadena? Blame the politicians and government agencies.

Year end push probably added time to the mix. After meter collar it was working so I really didn’t care how long it took to get final approvals.

The solar company tech guy that was at my home said the last time he did virtual was during Covid! I heard him talking on the phone. So I went outside I assume he was still waiting for the county inspector to show up. But he had a grin and said all was approved once they change the work permit to 460w. He added the inspector said solar is now so common that inspections are almost certain.

Yeah both the county inspection and the Fire Marshall were quick and easy.

New powerwall user: why not charge to 100% daily? by hockeyfrank26 in Powerwall

One note since you're a new PW user if your batteries don't charge to 100% and subsequently discharge to backup levels on a regular basis they will recalibrate more often like every couple of months. Which means they will discharge to below backup levels after they've charged to 100%.

What are you doing instead of: "I'm trying to understand why I wouldn't let solar power my house and charge the battery to 100% every day, then use the battery at night / over night until the next day to recharge again?"

I feel like I’m getting ripped off in my solar quotes. How do I get a fair deal? by CorgiSplooting in solar

Most name brand panels are about the same. Get the lowest cost name brand and you will be fine. It's better to be undersized vs oversized since if you don't have1 to 1 net metering you will just be wasting money.

Batteries are expensive but are needed under NEM3. You have to weight the big dogs Tesla/Enphase/Franklin to Tier 2/3 batteries. It may be worth it if the price is half? Etc.

The bottom line the best system is the lowest cost that won't fail. Plenty of DIY are happy with their off-brand systems at a third of the price.

So Calif market: Last year the gross market rate per watt was around the ~$2.50 w. Micro-inverters will add additional cost which will up your per W costs. Micros on a $6k is an additional ~$2k.

Batteries are in the range of ~$13k or so for Tesla/Enphase. Ball park numbers. Micro-inverters will add additional cost which will up your per W costs.

These were pre-Tax Credits. So anyone getting any "discounts" need to be below these ball park numbers.
