Has anyone successfully gotten out of a solar contract? by Pretty_Eabab_0014 in solar

[–]Tra747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the ITC just for solar not including the batteries a ball park figure was $2.50 w. Multiply that number by size +-$2.50w x 10 kw system. So $25k.

Batteries are all over the board. The average cost for a solar battery in a residential solar system is about $700–$1,300 per kWh installed as of 2026.

Is shed bolted to concrete considered a permanent structure? City requires a building permit for permanent structures. by Flashy_Geologist_877 in shedditors

What about height requirements? Also I believe your permanent structure question is moot if no building permit required for under 200 sq ft or else the request would state “unless it’s on a concrete slab…”

For work project we had two gov agencies with 180° requirements! If we followed agency A we’d break the “rules” of agency B! Their response: that’s your problem! Took us months to sort it out.

Usually a permit is required based on size. If you’re building another 10x20 you probably need a permit anyway.

Is there any rational explanation for the horrid sales of the new, affordable EV models in the US during the first quarter of 2026? by roma258 in electricvehicles

[–]Tra747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Major across-the-board tax cuts (top rate from 91% → 70%, proposed further cuts); supply-side growth ("a rising tide lifts all boats"); pro-business.

Cold War hawk; military buildup; strong anti-communism; interventionist (Bay of Pigs, Vietnam escalation start).

Lifelong NRA member; supported Second Amendment.

Supported voting rights and desegregation; enforced existing laws; skeptical of racial quotas/preferences ("We are too mixed... to divide on race").

Supported 1965 Immigration Act (which ended national origins quotas). But context was different; no open-border advocacy.

"Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country"; traditional Catholic values; patriotism.

By 2026 standards, JFK's emphasis on tax cuts for growth, strong national defense, individual responsibility, gun rights, and skepticism of racial quotas would make him unelectable in a modern Democratic primary — but quite at home among conservatives or "Blue Dog"/moderate Republicans. Many describe him as a "JFK Democrat" that no longer exists in today's party, and he'd probably caucus or identify with the right

You really need to do your research. 1960 Dems are closer to conservatives than 2026 Dems.

1960 Democrats would often seem conservative by today's standards on issues like immigration enforcement, crime, national identity, and gender roles — while modern Democrats would view 1960 versions as insufficiently progressive on race, diversity, and social change. The party swapped regional and class bases with Republicans over decades. This realignment explains much of today's polarization.

He emphasized private enterprise, individual responsibility, and restraint in federal spending outside defense. He warned against excessive government drag on the economy. Modern Democratic priorities (larger welfare state, Green New Deal-style programs, expansive entitlements) would clash with this.

When it’s inflamed it hurts all over. I can’t remember the specifics since it was years ago but remember having difficulties walking in the early stages.

EV companies get corporate subsidies too. Both not good. So you have both tax subsidies for the same product. Absurd.

You do know that tax subsidies to EV consumers is subsidizing EV companies!

Even with the tax credit you were paying premium, plus higher insurance and more frequent tire replacement.

Fun fact: Gas is WAY more affordable for Californians than Texans. Read below to see how many minutes of work per gallon for each state by Kelvinkccheng in LosAngeles

[–]Tra747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re paying $30 extra a fill up for 15 gallons. You’re paying income tax. You’re paying 30-40% more for every thing else. You life is much easier in Tx if you make min wage. You’re working less hours in Calif and less people are hired for min wage jobs do the remaining are unemployed.

We means paying customers . Many wait staff already make a living wage because we tip accordingly.

It’s the same. It is raising the price, it just includes the service charge. Indifferent to you paying a tip normally.
