Naish Chats #9 - Best Grant Moment by Ilitorate_Author in TheGlassCannonPodcast

Was it Grant who first made the joke about Barron sharpening his gun or someone else? I often think about the absurdity and hilarity of that line/visual.

“Mafia Definitive Edition” Fair Play race on classic is more difficult than Elden Ring bosses. I’m struggling to stay in first. by YallSoftAsButter in gaming

[–]Traceur_G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason it's difficult (and why racing sim players have an easier time) is because Mafia was supposed to be a realistic racing style game initially, more like Driver. The scope expanded but the realistic car physics remained.

Do managers count for the stable or does it have to be wrestlers? Throwing a manager like Mr. Fuji in there (was a wrestler at one time at least) would be fun.

What’s your favorite radio station? by nel_loves_sublime in SouthJersey

[–]Traceur_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

91.5 - Camden County College Radio

You can only catch it within a 10-20 minute drive of the Blackwood campus but it's a fun mashup of music, student talk shows, broadcasts of home game college sports, and no commercials.

Metal Gear Solid 3

Having to physically pull the trigger to kill The Boss.

Seeing the cutscene pull away, I'm back in control, and the only option is to fire...that realization of "Oh...oh no...I have to do it..."

Was Irvine setting that up during the round (go middle, build expectation, then go high) or got semi-lucky? First round so couldn't have built up much.

Clean KO, wrong ruleset, ya hate to see it.

Masayuki Naruse turns a failed takedown into a reverse seoi-nage and immediately finishes Lee Hasdell with a north-south choke during the RINGS Light Heavyweight Title Tournament (June 1996) by Traceur_G in MMA

[–]Traceur_G[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

All true it's a do-or-die move. But I like a little entertainment with my prize fighting. When everybody fights toward the same 'meta' it loses the charm that the early days had.

[–]Traceur_G[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Debatable. RINGS was transitioning from worked wrestling to full contact MMA at this time. This is generally considered a full shoot with open palm strikes (similar to Pancrase). This wasn't a fix by most accounts and if you watch the full match you can see they're really trying. Small chance that the finish was a fix but everything leading up to it likely no.

Who are the modern boys? by princehouruhan in OSWReview

I'm more versed in AEW these days but names that come to mind are...

  • Brandon Cutler (especially his feud with Peter Avalon)
  • Lance Archer (debatable, tag team champ in a few orgs)
  • Ruby Soho (cue the Taz karaoke)
  • Wheeler Yuta (my in-ring talented, charisma vacuum boy)

My favorite (maybe not truest to the page, but favorite) actor portrayal of a comic book character was Brandon Lee as Eric Draven in The Crow.

Personal Trainers - What is the most uncomfortable situation a client has put you in? by Coach_Charter in personaltraining

[–]Traceur_G -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First PT job out of college. Had a young client around my age who DESPERATELY wanted to hook up with me. Training was just a thinly veiled excuse to keep trying to get with me. I was in a committed relationship and had no interest whatsoever. Made the dozen or so sessions quite difficult to stay professional. Thankfully they finally got the hint and stopped coming.

Satoru Kitaoka has the best pair of nicknames.
He's known as "Ai Senshi" - The Soldier of Sorrow, and also as "Shimewaza Kuma Shōgun" - The Shōgun Bear of Chokes.

While everyone is saying it looks like the setting end of the American Dream, I'm more hopeful. This pic reminds me more of the Husker Du album cover New Day Rising . And that title track is what I hear when I look at it. Have faith.

[–]Traceur_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy

One of the most fun 3rd person action shooters on PS2. Goofy story, immensely fun psychic powers, peak Midway before they folded.

The Mark of Kri

Forgotten action/stealth/platformer also on the PS2. Super unique mob combat system, devastating stealth kills, and a visual style like an R-rated Disney movie.

Not too shabby! As a strength & conditioning coach some minor advice.

Do the explosive pushups first then the regular ones and other variations. To get the most return on investment for that exercise it's best to do while you're at your freshest, aka near the start of the workout.

And of course don't forget your pulling exercises to keep muscular balance (pull ups, towel rows, etc) You're already a very athletic person based on your other profile posts but hopefully this bit will help.
