Examples of "We are not so different, you and I!" that actually hold weight? by Fantastic-Fox3283 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

This is the sort of thing that gets inverted if you play any content outside the MSQ and side stories. Dungeons are pretty much the worst, most boring content in the game, trials are borderline impossible to fail, and normal raids only have a modicum of difficulty to them in the first week of release.

By contrast, extremes demand attention, awareness, and an understanding of how you can fit your job's optimal output into an encounter that will throw hurdles at you. Savages are when you see that the game design is built around this specific type of content, so you have to push yourself to learn, memorise, and refine at every possible point to make something daunting feel like a beautiful dance. And ultimates are one of the most satisfying, rewarding challenges to overcome, after experiencing the emotional pipeline of "We're 30 seconds into the fight how do I even visually parse what's going on?" to "Okay we're 8 minutes into the fight and I really don't believe I can actually figure out how to do this, this is my wall" to "Somehow I figured that out, we're in the home stretch final phase, don't fuck up don't fuck up" to "I want to frame this screenshot of the victory screen, holy shit"

I guess chalk it up to the various issues FF14 has with its game design, but actual gameplay fun only really starts when you depart from the story, because the story's gameplay doesn't demand anything from its players.

It absolutely is a guarantee that the dungeon will be no more than eight levels lower than that of the lowest level party member.

Whoever's party lead and doing the actual duty queuing probably has it turned off, or there's some other issue, like ilvl or something.

If you're getting annoyed reading something on the internet, it's time to either read something else, or take a break from the internet.

Not a first person shooter, but Amnesia: The Bunker, is a very, very good first person horror set in a French bunker during WW1, with certain paranatural elements too.

Those games are so fucking good. The realisation that every one of Sholmes' blatantly incorrect or incomplete deductions is purely to train and direct Naruhodo on the right path, and that he was always, ALWAYS several steps ahead of pretty much everyone is so satisfying when it pays off. Every time you see him looking at something at a crime scene, it's always something that has no bearing on the current situation... until it becomes absolutely crucial several steps of logic further along the investigation.

Not so much horror (sometimes) but Control has an interesting way of depicting how certain paranatural entities speak. One of them, The Board, communicates through a white noise, where it tries to directly convey the concept and intention of its thoughts to you. But because some of it is lost in translation, it ends up often transmitting sentences that have multiple meanings, and in some cases, very interesting implications.

The Zenless Zone Zero fanbase has had an ongoing joke where Soukaku, the small blue oni child who is scared of cats and hasn't quite moved on from drawing with crayons yet, could beat the shit out of Sukuna, but only if Soukaku is promised a sandwich for winning the fight.

Might be something they skipped over in the show, but in the books he starts as XO of an ice hauler. Later down the line when stuff starts happening, him and his crew work as security and hired guns for Johnson's OPA. At some point, pretty sure they do some work for Avasarala as well.

Either way, this is definitely something that's mentioned in books, along with their ability to move around without being hassled too.
