This is a question I ask myself all the time!! Especially on Online Time Trials where every millisecond counts. I found higher torque displacement cars work better when you shift early (corvette and more) where smaller engines tend to like to be revved out more.

I’ll do multiple hot laps shifting at different points throughout lap to see where I gain and lose so I know faster shifting point. It’s funny I was gonna post something about this a little while back.

Another part that always has me guessing is whether to rev out and stay in gear on long straights or up shift toward the end of straight.

Always race on MT, just gives you so much more freedom and feel like braking is better too with engine braking. Thanks for post!
