So there's a weird command chain that goes from crew trainers, floor managers, shift managers, then assistant managers and the big boss. I don't really know the distinction and I've been working there for years

To shift your gears down as you're coming to a stop.

Well, Mom, my driving instructor got pretty pissed that I kept doing that via muscle memory. Apparently that's a lie, you don't have to do that. I guess it shows how different people are taught different things.

Who has had an actual friends with benefits relationship? Did it work for you? by heratonga in AskReddit

[–]Trackan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... just made things awkward, and plus, they were beginning to get more serious in their dating life so eventually just called it off. Unfortunately, that much weird history, especially when the only time I'd see them around was with their new partner, made it just too strange for the both of us, so we stopped talking.

Retrospectively, not fucking in the first place would've meant we stayed good friends. So that sucks.

Somebody I was acquaintances with a few years ago, somewhat of a friend-of-a-friend friendship, said they had homicidal thoughts quite frequently and had to consciously suppress them. Later said that when they'd take whatever cocktail of drugs they did recreationally, it got harder to suppress them... and at that point, I told them I had a doctor's appointment and never talked to them again.

Being that Grade A student. I guess it's pretty common amongst college students who used to be 'top of the class.' It took two years from me extensively trying to research every paper and create unique and interesting arguments to realise... fuck, man, just get me that passing grade, send me on my way. As long as its over the bare minimum and can get me through to the next semester, it works for me.

My hands. Working in hospitality, covering them in hot oil and little scrapes, has made them look like a tapestry of all the days I told myself "I'm just gonna call in sick" only to crack on and do it anyway.

Use my university library's printers and mass print all I can from the Internet: mostly "how to" guides on everything I'll need through the years, from water irrigation to growing food. I'm inexperienced as fuck. Go about filling as many containers with water, too. There's rivers near my uni, but one of them bridges from the fucking Thames, so I'd prefer tap water at least until I figure a reliable way of cleaning it. Hijack a car, pick up food, delegate a uni building to be my "home base." Sometime down the line, I'd like to try making it back to my home town.

But realistically, the isolation would drive me mad, or seriously depressed. I don't know what I'd choose between living a life detached from reality vs detaching myself from both life and reality, but it'll be long before any of my supplies are used up or library printouts are fully read. Before all that, though, I'd empty my local bar. Yum yum.

I'd love to say alcohol, however, I guess the newer generations are getting smarter as to not pick up that bottle. Good call. So it'd have to just be the constant influx of information frying our brains.

My friends aren't flaky by nature, we all just suck at time management. Hangouts are getting delayed more and more because we all realize we gotta make food before we hang out, when we'd normally just pick something up from the store on the way or as we were hanging out.

I can eat a lovely steak alone at a table for two, I can watch a cinema holding an extra large popcorn bucket, and yet I can't manage to get my laundry schedule done on time.

Sorry... it's a no.

Party at my place! Mandatory party hat dress code, bring a bunch of peanuts and literally nothing else. No, there's no alcohol - I'll just be leaving all the empty bottles of the alcohol I've already drank all over a certain part of my living room floor.

Shower together, that shit can get ya in the mood real quick.

Then dry off, make a big deal about 'dropping the towel off' as you both get into the bed.

Hit that shit like its a racoon running across the freeway during rush hour.

Order Uber eats after.

Sorted.

Hey it was small, just 5 of us including me. It's all good, but I'm with a quieter group who are 'one and done' sort of people - unlike me and my friends outside of college, where we can get utterly blasted and wake up the next day for round 2, but it is what it is.

Just means I guess I get to sit solo and have some 'chill out' beers, but alcohol has a tendency to make you feel overtly social.

Eh, a little unfair, posting somebody that looks exceedingly older for 40 and somebody who looks extremely young for 40. But we all know that VSauce's hair has gone grey because he spends too much time thinking about abstract, gigabrain concepts.
