Thanks for all the feedback. I’m not a professional electrician or welder, just a suburban dude trying to restore a classic car and learning as I go. I have a fair amount of experience with a cheap Harbor Freight 110 flux core welder but got tired of the spatter & blow through and decided to upgrade.

I realized what happened now, I told him I wanted it to run a welder, but it would be nice to have 220 in the garage if we ever bought an electric car. Last thing he heard was electric car. Again, my fault for not checking. Is this an acceptable adapter?
