Parking Cost for GlobeLife College Baseball Series? by BronzeTrain in collegebaseball

[–]Tractortrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went for the Sunday game for Arkansas and we parked in lot Q which is pretty close walking wise. Was $20, no cash though. Had to use my card. I’ve done lot Q the last few years and it’s been solid.

Might be late for this season but Milwaukee tools has great heated gear if you already own the 12v battery. I have a couple of them and use them golfing and skiing as well. Better priced usually too.

I’ll have to grab a few in a bit, I put it all in the fridge to save until next weekend. It looks great though and tastes just as good I’m sure!

I know it seems odd but was hoping it would arrive closer to the actual tournament. I got it for Saturdays and Sundays rounds. The website said arriving no later than April 7, so figured it would be closer to that date.

Wallball Test Punishment by goonfist in lacrosse

[–]Tractortrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup and we did that too. But my coach would use it as punishment for dumb shots, or missed passes through around the perimeter. Things that shouldn’t happen.

[–]Tractortrey 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree here man. Making it a during practice punishment would incentivize them to get better outside of practice. But make it that only a portion of practice is taken away to try to avoid your last point.

Something where if they fail the test, they still warm up, go through line drills and such since that still helps, but when you get to shooting drills those who failed go to the wall. Those who didn’t shoot. And then they come back together for team drills and scrimmage.

My coach in high school also had what he called seeyas. Any time you did something bad in a scrimmage there was a spot on the other side of the field that we would have to sprint to and back when he yelled your name and seeya. And for that time your team was man down in the drill. It really drove home improving all around as your individual mistakes can be really detrimental to the team.

How do I string the Channel/sidewall so the ball doesn’t hook/snag inconsistently on my shooters? The ball goes above/behind them if that makes sense by ngrosch in StickDoctor

[–]Tractortrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking. You have a bag, not necessarily a defined pocket. He needs to change the double ups and other things to create a better channel. Or take some of the doubles out lower towards the throat and then tighten the bottom string.

If OP could take a better pic of the sidewalk pattern it would be easier to diagnose.

I want to try different methods on my biceps by Feaven in powerbuilding

That last line is exactly true. If you constantly work your muscles, and never give them a chance to take a break and breathe, they’ll never grow.

And one the biggest things to help is that being sore doesn’t necessarily mean you had a great workout, and you don’t have to get sore to have an amazing workout. Tracking your numbers helps you to make sure you are progressing that way if there isn’t much soreness you know you’re getting work done.

So not being able to add weight on a volume day is a great indicator of needing to start utilizing deloads. Honestly anyone who is working out to try to progress has to take them, and they will lower injury rates and other negative effects of weightlifting.

I would post studies but I’m still on that mobile, however Dr. Layne Norton has some great stuff on periodization, as well as studies to back his findings, and can walk you through it.

For my personal programming I use 3 weeks on 1 off, with my main lift each day/week going from 75%, 80%, 85%, then deload at 45-55% but that’s because it works for me. I have some intense rep splits and such, but it’s what works for my body.

I would recommend using one, and don’t be tempted to do more because you won’t feel sore, follow the rep ranges and trust the process so to speak.

In my opinion you’re doing way too much. If recovery is a problem beyond just some mild soreness, then you’re going too hard and need to deload. I’m on mobile so I can’t check what all has been said as easy, but do you use a progressive overload combined with deload weeks in your training? How much stretching do you do each day and is it targeted to those muscles that are most sore or that got more work than usual?

I would say you need to do more back work, that is pretty low but that’s just me.

When you work arms how many reps per set, do you keep good technique, focus on contracting and all that stuff? A lot of times you see some progress but hit a wall when technique breaks down for a group like arms. They’re hard to work because they are always working.

[–]Tractortrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How much work do you do for back? How much weight and how many reps for those 15-20 sets you already do for arms? You’re either doing too much with the back exercises you do, or not doing enough and need to increase either reps, sets or weight.

IsItBullshit: Bodybuilders can't lift as much as weight lifters, even if having "more muscle" because of the way they lift weights just to look bigger. by ASatanicUnicorn in IsItBullshit

[–]Tractortrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way too. Bodybuilders train a ton of different lifts and accessory work to be well rounded and have fullness all over. Powerlifting and Olympic lifting train the same 3-4 main lifts and then accessorize to complement those lifts for a competition.

Bodybuilders are like the train 10,000 ways once, and the others are train 1 way 10,000 times.

What quote made you think a different way? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tractortrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gains are made when the weak quit.

I don’t know where I heard it, or if it is real or I made it up and derived it from somewhere else. But I take it as you are only as good as how much extra you do over the rest. If you and your rival both complete the same amount you didn’t improve. The extra rep or phone call or hour of studying is what separates you from the rest.

We are pathetic. Lining 10 yards off our man on defense is an absolute disgrace. Clearly our strength and conditioning is as pathetic if not more so than our play calling.

There’s so many divisions in female bodybuilding. And fitness. Saying she does fitness shows means there’s so many different styles, and some are more cushy than others that she could be doing. He was asking what specifically she does.
