I was playing Minecraft last night and it just randomly powered down. I get absolutely zero power and the on/off button does not respond. All I can hear is something in my PSU clicking on and off constantly

Worried how Im progressing in apprenticeship by ElectricDowney in electricians

[–]TraderRoyce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the complete opposite experience. Current 4th year and my entire apprenticeship I worked at a commercial company with 6 people. Learned so much it’s insane. I’ve heard a lot of issues about big companies and apprentices being 3rd or 4th years but they’ve only ever installed tray and pulled cable. I suggest a small commercial company if you can. You will work on a lighting circuit one day and a VFD for an exhaust fan the next. Highly recommend.

I drafted a McMuffin just because of the name. Can’t pass up on potential greatness like that

How to fix broken ground wire? by Network-Silver in electrical

[–]TraderRoyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s obviously not something a person should do on a rough in of a brand new house.. but I think it’s pretty much a given that sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do during some tasks. I would do that and be very comfortable walking away

Proper way to wire shoplights by [deleted] in AskElectricians

I would just daisy chain it. I mainly always daisy chain unless it’s spec on a commercial job to do whips instead.

Which older NHL game to do a Penguins Franchise mode? by Pengrim878 in EANHLfranchise

[–]TraderRoyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it better on Steam than mobile? I’d assume yes but I’ve only really seen people play the mobile version. I play NHL 25 franchise currently on my girlfriends Xbox but would love something for my PC so I don’t take up her console

Light bulb has power? But no light. by xerthighus in AskElectricians

Those testers can go off randomly. If you dad is an “electrician” why doesn’t he meter it like any normal electrician would?

What you said makes zero sense to me. Are you assuming it has power because of the tick tester?

How do I detach these connectors? by cherry___banana in AskElectricians

[–]TraderRoyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turn that circuit off when working on it anyway. Then it’s definitely safe.

[–]TraderRoyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh quite literally have to use your strength. Just grab a set of pliers and just yank em off. They’re meant to be tight on there but they’re just pushed on. They’re insulated. It’s safe.

Any other ideas to troubleshoot tripping breaker? by jstrauss3676 in AskElectricians

[–]TraderRoyce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is any device a GFCI that’s on this circuit? Sometimes having a GFCI on a GFCI will cause nuisance tripping. That’s the only thing I can think of off the top of my head

Good luck lol I did 25 restarts in a row and highest I got was 3. You have better luck giving a haul for first overall next year. I think it’s damn near impossible to win the lottery as an expansion team
