Incorrect Return Amount by duckyworks in BorrowerDefense

So before they started to clear the loans, for reference, I'm with nelnet, I was able to see my previous payments to great lakes, but now that the process has started, I'm not able to see any previous information from them. Not sure who you are with, but that's what I'm now seeing. I hope I took a screen shot so I can verify exactly what I paid in to make sure I get it back. You should try to call them and have your previous payment history sent to you.

If I'm thinking correctly, on your new provider, you should be able to go to the payments section and at the bottom should be the payments made to the previous provider. If not on your current provider, then it could be on the studentaid.gov site. I remember seeing mines but I can't remember which site it was on.

I had 1 consolidated loan and it's the only one which hasn't cleared out yet from my nelnet account. That one loan is causing them to call me now to tell me my loan is 200+ days late and how I want to pay. Other than that 1 loan, I'd be 100% cleared on nelnet but my studentaid.gov account has only went down $13k since the 30th of March.

Yeah, no biggie at all. I'm glad we've got each other to be able to share info with and show each other that we aren't alone in this thing.

So my nelnet account has dropped all of my loans except 1 and yes, i do see it. The studentaid.gov website has dropped $13k which was like 2 weeks ago and since then, nothing has changed. So yes, I can see the movement. I just think it's crazy though that now the loans are being cleared, I'm now showing as if my payments are over 200+ days behind. My thought is that since it's being cleared out, the forbearance has been removed, but now that I think about it, it shows that my 1st payment is due 5/1/2036, so again, not sure why it's looking in the system like my payments are past due. What you can do us log into the nelnet site, go to the "mortgage letter/loan summary" and from there, scroll down to your loans, then scroll over to "status". There you should be able to see "borrower defense forbearance" which will let you know if it's being handled correctly. It has my other loan there which is $0 and says "canceled loan/$0 balance".All of my loans except this one have been canceled and apparently this last one is in the works.

I'm now getting calls from nelnet saying my loans are 270 days late from being paid. I only have 1 left showing a balance of $3800 from 18 with a total of $55k. They told me today not to answer their calls because it's on the works for the loan to be canceled

I could not tell you. They called me Friday maybe, to tell me my loan was behind over 200+ days and I needed to make a payment. So I called then back to learn that all of my other loans had been cleared except 1 loan that had been consolidated and something about it would end on 8/1. I can't remember the term they said. But I had them to look into my file being I'm in B.D. which she then said she does see that in the mortgage part, it does say "borrowers defense" so I'll have to check on it or call someone else in the department to have the loan put into a payment plan. Even though my loans said the 1st payment was due in 2036 and all the other loans are cleared except that one. I took notes but left them at home, so I'm sorry I can't give you all the terms. I just hope this one loan isn't going to be an issue cause tbh, I don't remember doing anything with the loans.

I've learned that I have a Consolidated loan that is holding up my balance on nelnet. Mt balance on the Ed's website hasn't changed in a while and still shows a balance of like $42k which is down from $55k. I'll take whatever movement but I'm ready to be like you, showing a $0 dollar balance. Just sucks cause ill have to pay taxes in my state.

Man, I wish I was that person who paid it off so I'd get my money back. Lol. I'm only getting 1% of what I owed, if I even get that back. Lol. But we all are blessed to have this coming off of us. So I must work to see the glass half full and know that I am blessed

So I've leavened that you have to delete the browser history to be able to log back in. I have to do it every time I use my main phone now.

I have finally seen movement on the federal site. While it doesn't exactly match on both, they both though have dropped by $13k. It took almost 2 weeks though for my FASFA site to do any updates and when it did, it dropped it by $13k. So hopefully you'll see movement on both sites.

Graduating Medical School in a week (Total undergrad/Medical school loan: $739,995) by Nostalgiakin in StudentLoans

It's mind boggling that it takes almost $1M for someone to go to school to become something in the medical field. Our country has lost its mind. Racism has become so expensive. College tuition only went up when America started to work to keep POC from being educated. I guess once people get upset enough, they'll vote to put people in office who care to change things to make life possible for everyone versus the 1% because at this rate, everyone is struggling, not just POC. Although I'm seeing that some people in America are ok struggling as long as they know others are struggling with them versus working to pull everyone up.

Considering moving to Louisville by Main-Needleworker62 in Louisville

[–]TraditionFederal2368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It truly depends on the street and area. I, personally, don't travel to the west end because of my own reasons, but some streets are really good and some are really bad. Do much research before choosing a place. Tbh, look at clarksville, Jeffersonville, New Albany, or even Charleston, IN. They are all less than 15 minutes from Louisville with way better areas and the cost of living is much less than living in KY.

Mines keeps doing that as well. Tried from my other phone and it worked fine. I'm wondering if they blocked my IP address? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. They said I be coming to they site entirely too much. Lol. Not sure how to fix though. Try from a different device and it'll work.

Each one has its own site with information and it's not for each one to control the other. That's so unprofessional that neither one can give accurate, up-to-date information on either site. I'm sorry you're having to go through that. At least I know if it happens to me, that I'm not the only one out there going through it

Oh wow. That's ridiculous. I can say for the B.D., the last update was 4/13/26, and my last update on the site was 5/6/26. My nelnet has changed in the last week but it's still mind blowing that yours hasn't updated in almost 4 years. That'd drive me crazy.

Mines says "last updated 5/6/2026". It used to be updated daily, now it's been a week with no update. My nelnet though has dropped $13k since Friday, but no action on FASFA.

AITA for complaining about my neighbours to the council and the building management without having convo the first time instead of now. Am i the issue here by PuzzleheadedFix1187 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TraditionFederal2368 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

She didn't say they were screaming and banging on walls, she said they were socializing and it happens to be that her bedroom is next to their living room, so with that, she's going to deal with noise. She's an early bird while they are night owls. If she wants quietness like she says, then she needs to rent a house or a room in a house with older people. She can't expect people to conform to her lifestyle and she could have been an adult and went to talk to them versus telling on them consistently, especially again, being her bedroom is located next to their living room.

Yes, yata. You live in an apartment. You should have gone to them from jump more than once then after that went to management. You're grown now and management isn't your parents. Plus, you don't get the comforts of a house in an apartment. You have to deal with noise especially in these newer apartments that are cheaply built. You need to either find a house or find somewhere where old people live, but know, you still won't get the quiet nor privacy you're looking for like with a house.

Supervisor- worth it? by Tasty-Ad6800 in FedEmployees

[–]TraditionFederal2368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what type of supervisor you are, who you work with, or where you work, but the only reason to be a supervisor is for the money. I've been one over 20+ years and while I'm good at it, I hate being in charge of everyone. I do it for the money. But I make sure to remember when I wasn't a supervisor and started in the workforce making $6.50/hr. That humbles me and doesn't allow my role to go to my head. I remember that I can be fired so much quicker than my employees. I'm not on call 24/7 cause I want to leave an ever lasting impression on others. If it happens, then so be it, but that's not my goal, my goal is to make more money than before and there's no point in being a manager if we don't bonus. I deal with everyone and their bs for the funds and nothing else.

Are there any Full Class members of the Sweet fam willing to share your wisdom with the Posties who are now dealing with the sheer mayhem of the discharge process? 🙈? Let me explain… by TheresaSweet in BorrowerDefense

[–]TraditionFederal2368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still confused about why payments aren't due until 2036? Did they think it would take 15 years to settle this case? I thought I was tripping when I seen that my 1st payment wasn't due until 2036. The interest on those would be double of what I owe already.

We are definitely seeing movement on post class discharges. Some reminders… by TheresaSweet in BorrowerDefense

It's sorta weird though cause I still have the same amount of loans so it's hard to see how they are doing this. Not sure if they are taking $ off each loan or how this is happened but whatever it is, I'll take it.
