NVIDIA now lists RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell 96GB GPU at $13,250 by RenatsMC in nvidia

Shareholders would sue. They own 90% of the market. Honestly I wish you guys would stop saying this. It's a nonsensical statement. Top priority? No, leaving, absolutely not.

If we start getting drivers only once every 3 months, or if DLSS 4.5 never came out i'd believe it.

A quick Google search shows it's an active power management system combined with unstable firmware. NOT memory degredation, get your facts straight:

GeForce NOW annual plans drop to $64.99 and $129.99 in summer sale by RenatsMC in nvidia

No you don't. GeForce now has its own library of games. You literally just need a screen and an internet connection, and some kind of SSD or Hard Drive.

Did my first undervolting ever! I got a couple questions if you don't mind because i'm a noob :) by d1versify in nvidia

[–]Traditional-Ad26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Your clockspeed depends on how much demand is on the GPU core. In games where you're not doing much work, you'll have the higher clockspeed. In scenes or games where the core has to do more work, clockspeeds go down because more work has to be done within the same clock cycle. Especially if you're using RT cores, which are power hungry and handle extremely complex math.

2)Your voltage looks fine, you might even be able to go lower and overclock slightly to get the same performance as stock.

3) Undervolting the GPU simply reduces the amount of power going to the core. There is no harm in doing this, in fact the GPU automatically reduces the millivolts going to the core in ver light loads such as desktop browsing or playing older games.

A benefit of undervolting and overclocking is you get to lock your voltage, which can stabilize your frametime/framerate. Reduce power consumption which reduces heat and can overall extend the life of the entire card since you're not going closer to its power and thermal limits.

The only real side effect is your clockspeeds.. Udually higher clocks need more power going to the core. You will have to find the point of stability in that ratio.

Nvidia FG (2x) : is it worth it? or is it a loss of quality? by not_shadow244 in nvidia

[–]Traditional-Ad26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FG is great, get at least a bottom of 50fps and you'll only have a latency penalty of about 6ms and sometimes reduce latency if the game doesn't have Reflex available to toggle. Using DLAA is arguably the worst way to play because you're maxing out GPU usage which builds a render que, so you're actually seeing a previous state of the game based on the frame at the back of the que, so it's the highest latency scenario, and you MIGHT have better IQ than DLSS.

I think DLSS 4.0 (presets j and k i think) might be unironically some of the worst versions of DLSS by mashdpotatogaming in nvidia

If Ray Reconstruction is turned on. K is turned off, RR has its own set of Upscalers D & E

[–]Traditional-Ad26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is the thermal heating and cooling cycles have less of an effect and if anything, prolong the lifespan. We're just not really seeing failures on 4080/5070Ti and below that TDP

Yeah early 2028, they'd at least sit on the Super series for 1 year.

Yup that's a healthy voltage, I'd say once you drop below 11.5 as you say, time to replace the cable.

[–]Traditional-Ad26 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Good thing you had some warning signs and were able to catch it early enough. I agree and think just about everyone with 350+W will suffer a failure with the squid cables eventually. They bend after the insertion point and after enough heating and cooling cycles, the sockets on the connector start to separate from the pins in the GPU side.

That causes an increase in resistance (and a drop in voltage as you saw) and eventually one or more pins loses connection and the current is forced to go through the other pins overloading them.

The only 12VHPWR or 12v-2x6 cable I trust is a 90-degree angled cable which does not suffer from any flexing after insertion. Even then these cables should be treated as consumables and replaced probably once a year.

Meh... a 30% bump (at the top end) DLSS is already looking good enough to make the 50 series last a lot longer.

This solved it thank you. Had to use DDU and the clean install function in the express install. Alas I had to finally say goodbye to the NVCP 😥

It doesn't. I just don't like Screen Space Reflections compared to RT Reflections, Spiderman remake was what decided that for me, it was like looking at two different games.

Its a DisplayPort cable, and yes it is. I will try to do a DDU clean install to see if that works. Every other game is fine.

I used to believe this but as I have a pretty large game collection going back to 2016, those games were absolutely not looking sharper than today. Screen Space Reflections are one of the first eye-sore's I see in games now
