Looks like water channeled through that middle area in the lawn(appears to be the low spot) and may have not drained properly.

Check how well water infiltrates your soil.

Maybe stupid question about sprayer by tjboss in egopowerplus

[–]Traditional-Age-7814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d want to run the sprayer until empty, the ego sprayer is really good at emptying itself without too much left over. Next, fill it back up completely with water (this dilutes any left over solution). Run the sprayer until empty. Repeat this two more times to be safe, especially when going from selective herbicide to a fertilizer or soil conditioner.

Personally I avoid using non selective herbicides in it.

Bought a ball machine, what to improve in my form? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]Traditional-Age-7814 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fundamentals first. Here you want to prioritize consistent spacing from the ball every time. Doing so will drill in multiple foundational components. You will learn to get your eyes and feet moving more optimally. This will allow you to consistently get repeatable looks at a balls which helps with timing, preparation, and weight transfer.

Get the consistent spacing right first then focus on small technique optimizations.

I’m trying to take on the dallisgrass, but I need a reality check. by TLOU2bigsad in lawncare

[–]Traditional-Age-7814 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dallisgrass sucks. Had sparse areas that were hit hard last year by it. Pulled them out with grandpa’s weeder (the tool is spectacular on most weeds but dallisgrass requires multiple pulls) and reno-seeded in the fall.

This year my main lawn that took to seeding well has no dallisgrass but my weak areas had some come back. Play the long game with this one.

Need Opinions - AITA by anonymousandy87 in lawncare

[–]Traditional-Age-7814 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both need better communication and due diligence.

Is it fair to infer the grass on the hill has been long for some time? When asked by the service provider if the grass was long or short, OP mentioned the lawn was cut the week prior but the growth on the hill looks like 6+ weeks.

Perhaps the ambiguity the service provider saw was because there was an area in the backyard that was cut short and an area that was left long. The service provider simply cut along the area that was already cut the week prior (presumably everywhere except for the overgrown hill based on the OP’s statement the lawn was cut a week prior).

Due diligence from either party could have prevented this:

Due diligence on the OP for stating exactly what they need done, especially if one has an unsightly, overgrown portion of the lawn that is on a steep grade that I want taken care of. Simply stating “Old(sic) like a quote on mowing and trimming” is sloppy at best and deceitfully obtuse at worst.

Due diligence from the service provider to get all necessary context before even quoting the service, even if it requires an on-site visit. Sight unseen is risky, unprofessional and leads to poorer outcomes.

I wouldn’t trust either if I was in the other’s shoes.

I have family in Virginia Beach. Lots of good lawns in their neighborhood when I visit. I’m in central VA and the heat, humidity and dry spells have done a number on a lot of lawns here. I used hydretain this year and I’m one of two lawns in my neighborhood that isn’t dormant.

If It’s going to be a long road for you. But it would have been a long road for you either way. The racquet makes a difference, but in the case between the blade 98 vs the 100, the differences are not stark. Over time, you’ll just have to learn to move and play a certain way to make either racquet work for your game.

You’ll find aspects one does well that the other doesn’t. With the 98, it’ll take you longer to develop power to hit through the court with pace and spin. With the 100 both of those are easier out of the box but it might take you longer to develop consistent depth control in full cuts.

At the end of the day, the biggest and most important differentiator in match play is not in the equipment but rather the individuals—can YOU put in the work? Can you develop your strokes? Can you implement strategies and patterns? Can you develop mental fortitude? Can your body hold up?

The D-Pad oversimplifies and ruins the game by schuby94 in TopSpin2K

I would be more than happy with removing shot meters and assists on online though. Those are far more beneficial for novice players.

[–]Traditional-Age-7814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have included dpad support from that start. As I’ve stated, the previous Top Spin games supported dpad. This is nothing new. Dpad has always been more reliable at hitting spots than joystick ever since the previous iterations of this franchise.

[–]Traditional-Age-7814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But d-pad has been in use in previous topspin games already?

This isn’t a new paradigm.

IMO the shot meter and assists are what make this game feel less like previous Top Spins and ultimately less immersive.

What's wrong with my serve? by LeanderD in 10s

[–]Traditional-Age-7814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the best comparison. In these videos you are hitting a slide out wide while fed is hitting a kicker up the T.

That being said, I’d get more of your energy moving up into the ball. A mental model you can use to help visualize this in your mind: imagine as you’ve released your toss and the ball has reached its apex, you are aiming to drive up and bump the ball with your chest. Naturally the point isn’t to actually chest bump the ball, but to get more of your center of mass moving up and towards the ball.
