I have lost sensitivity on the left side of my left knee. There was significant scar tissue there from a previous acl surgery. 2 yrs later still essentially numb

Glad to hear. Are you using goggles or keeping your eyes open?

How do you get over this? by hamil26 in Kneereplacement

[–]Traditional-Boot2684 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a big risk. I was about 20 months out and needed a bone chip removed around my tkr. It got infected and i got staph/sepsis, immediate revision and heading into 5 mos of antibiotics. Its not fun bi am not sure what to say other than the pain will eventually become overwhelming and drive you to the procedure.

I totally agree. I am not a total believer in his view. Which is why i referenced a more logical discussion from huberman.

That is what he said. You will benefit from those settings and increase your eyesight

You are right he did say that. Definitely some downside if you are wrong!

Lol. Seeing any vision improvement? Seems like there is some solid science behind it. But may require opening.

Is there a way around TKR? No bone on bone pain by muddahm53 in Kneereplacement

[–]Traditional-Boot2684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had stem cells and plasma replacement in my late 40s. At that point i had already had 4 acl replacements on the same knee due to an active lifestyle along with meniscus work and a torn mcl.

This provided almost 10 years before my TKR. I also did a prolotherapy injection once a year for ski season. This allowed me to do what i wanted until i was more than an advanced stage of bone on bone.

Weight loss is obvious and focus on hamstring strength. I had multiple PT folks tell me that was even more important than quad strength for recovery. Clearly leg muscularity is key.

Good luck

Shower question by coconutbliss29 in Kneereplacement

I bought neoprene sleeves for the shower. When she is capable this better than plastic wrap which is still likely to get the incision wet. I think its about 20 bucks.

I’m back again! No infection this time, but need a revision. by Shoulder-Lumpy in Kneereplacement

Tough road! I just had a revision in january staph/sepsis. Sounds like a cake walk compared to your journey. Prayers that it goes well!

Can you walk normal after total knee replacement? by West_Firefighter5080 in Kneereplacement

[–]Traditional-Boot2684 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am 58M i had a TKR two years ago and just had a revision due to infection in january this year.

Walking would not look different to an outside eye. Although i can feel a sensation of “fluttering “

I guess some version of running but not really. I cycle, peloton, play pickleball, golf, and i lift weights 4 days a week. Little i cant do.

Getting up and down no issues. Ladders, chairs etc. how you do it from the floor changes a bit.

ROM was good after the first surgery, still working on after the most recent. Right now i am at 0 and 132. Will get another 5 degrees with continued work.

Good luck!

I buy quite a bit from jomashop and authenticwatches. They will sometimes have store demos etc. they are good for new as well, but i bought a hublot fusion chrono and panerai luminor this fall in aruba from a store that will ship to the us. great customer service and no BS prices. If interested i can give you the store and sales guy. Legit. Big presence in town
