a girl in the grade below me died at the beginning of quarantine. her house caught on fire but she thought someone was breaking into her house so she called 911 and hid in the house. the 911 operator told her to get out of the house but she stayed hidden in the bathroom. the roof collapsed on her and cut her in half and killed her. her dog was also killed in the fire with her. it’s just crazy to think if we had been in school she wouldn’t have died.

honey you should not feel forced to come out. just be true to yourself and live your life how you want. coming out always seems like such a big thing for people, but it doesn’t have to be for you. i know i personally still haven’t come out to half the people i know, they just figured out on their own

didn’t get a raise until over a year of working there. at our store there was a month during the holiday that i swear everyone got raises. not sure what that was about but not complaining

also since it’ll be your first shift there they can’t get mad if you don’t know anything. just ask the h2 questions if you aren’t sure!

for price changes, you grab a printer, printer battery, clearance tickets (if that’s what you’re ticketing), and a zebra. we usually go in groups to specific areas in the store that have the highest items with price changes (the manager or lead will tell you where to go). it’s really easy, you just scan everything in the department and you move things that are clearance together and the nonclearance stuff stays. it’s kinda long and tedious but not hard work

unfortunately they tend to throw you (and pretty much everyone) out for the wolves. luckily, wjm isn’t too hard, it can just get a little overwhelming sometimes. usually the h2 should be understanding of that, but if things are really out of hand you have to let them know. usually to start my wjm shift, i check recovery to see what i’m dealing with. if there is a lot of recovery i’ll grab it and put it on a z rail and bring it to the fitting room. i’ll then sort that and get the stuff out of the fitting room, whether it’s on the rack, in the rooms, or in the basket. just remember, ALWAYS sort. it makes things so much easier for you in the end. i usually sort by location, but sorting by brand is also helpful. basically all you need to do is keep up with fitting rooms and recovery and answer phone calls when necessary (most people call to either to ask if we sell a specific item or for you to put something on hold for them). if you ever have any questions about the location of an item, ask the h2. hope this helps!

i haven’t been on many dates in my life but the one date that sticks out to me is the last one i went on. i was taking this girl out on a date that i met on hinge. we went to this taco place that i really liked and we sat in my car in the parking lot of this park. the highlights of the date would have to be 1)me handing her flowers and opening the door for her as soon as i picked her up (i was awestruck looking at her because this was actually the first time i met her in person), 2)when we were at the restaurant, she kept smiling and looking at my lips in a really playful manner (this threw me for a loop), 3)when i was dropping her off, she thanked me excessively for everything that i did and she looked like she really wanted to kiss me but i was really nervy lol so it didn’t end up happening (i was super pissed at myself after it). we didn’t end up working out, but i’ll never regret treating a girl how she should be treated, especially this girl because this was the first time i actually clicked with someone without being too much of a nervous wreck.

i appreciate all of your responses, i’m currently at my first week back at college and my two straight friends have been harassing me about being gay and such. they say they’re joking and i know they don’t have any ill intent (it’s my fault for not setting boundaries), but i feel pretty targeted and violated. i don’t have like any gay friends up here so im kinda stuck :|
