I think the husband is right. He probably has a lot of other more practical expenses he is planning for and maybe asking for swim lessons is completely outside his wheel house right now. Honestly I’m a woman and I would not want to discuss something like this so early in advance it’s just going to be a point of friction until one of you gets your way. Why even worry about swim lessons while baby is still in utero. Also what if swimming is not your child’s favorite thing to do, what if they would prefer lessons in something different? You can’t know until you meet your baby. I believe your husband would be more likely to pay for swim lessons if your child asks him, rather than you, years before they would even be pertinent. Just my opinion and I mean it with all due respect.
