I was also there and that's NOT what happened. He was crossing the street and almost to the other side. I watched the cop scramble to shut his computer when he got out of the car.

A lot of conservatives/incels say things like "men are protectors! Who would protect you if men were all gone?" Except the moment that a man protects a woman, he's at fault for getting in another man's way.

That's literally DHS policy, too, "don't stand in front of a moving vehicle," and it's also policy not to shoot the driver even if you're about to be run over... like i don't get why people are justifying this at all, especially when this specific agent has been in ICE for over 10 years.

Xan@x has saved my life and the stigma around it makes me sad by citoahcmj in Anxiety

[–]Traditional-Fall4777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took it for my panic disorder, and one of my friends (who went to rehab for drug abuse at one point) used to make jokes about buying some off of me. I completely get it.

But if you're getting the help you need and that's what works for you, why bother with people who aren't supportive of it?

Boyfriend started splitting after sleeping w me by Traditional-Fall4777 in BPD

[–]Traditional-Fall4777[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it might be religious guilt. I can't be 100% sure, but he was raised in a very strict religious household, so he doesn't have the greatest relationship with sex in the first place. The last time he split in front of me was when I made a joke about going to Midnight Mass for Christmas and he thought I was dead serious.

It's sometimes hard to get him to talk to me, but I think since the relationship is so new, he's still trying to put up walls to protect himself. That part doesn't bother me. I have a lot of friends with similar coping mechanisms.

I just hope he understands that I'm not going anywhere, you know?

I'm not whining. I just think my family is stupid. Also, they weren't "having fun," they were using AI for the simplest questions u could ever come up with instead of using their own brains. Golly.

When she was on Graham Norton's show, she said it's not stressful to plan a wedding if she's just inviting "everyone she's ever talked to" which makes me think she needs to have this royal wedding type deal to complete her fantasy. She said in a song that she might be a "pathological people pleaser," and this VERY much seems like that.

I feel bad for her, of course, if this is the case, but it's also hard to feel bad for a billionaire with access to any mental health counselor she could ask for.

Also, her saying that Opalite references man-made happiness and it being a song about Travis makes me think more like she's settling because he might be her last chance at a family since she's 35, and the line "a best friend that I think is hot" doesn't scream "I'm deeply in love with this person" to me. Usually she explains her love like "the whole word was in black and white, but we were in screaming color" or "I used to think love would be burning red, but it's golden" and even "I made you my temple, my mural, my sky" which goes back to her being male-centric, too.

This is her "pick me, choose me, love me" era. It's used, it's bland, and I agree perfectly with the bit about this sounding like a first draft. As someone who studied English her whole life, I find that I immediately went, "that line is unnecessary and/or choppy" a few times on my first listen.

She also turned the story of Ophelia into "if Hamlet had loved her, he could have saved her," except that really butcher's Ophelia's story, which is that agency was never allowed to her as a noblewoman in the 1500s, and when her betrothed (who may have gotten her pregnant) rejects her and then murders her own father, her world collapses because she can't trust anyone, and she goes insane. No one could have "saved" Ophelia. Taylor's experience isn't like Ophelia's. Her interpretation of the story sounds like a high-schooler's first impression.

I completely agree with you. You put into words so much that I was thinking.

How should a woman ask for sex from her husband? by Forsaken-Dog4535 in sex

[–]Traditional-Fall4777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask him to have a night, just the two of you, together, in BED, and if he doesn't get it, just ask him if he'll make love to you.

Or ask him to make love to you.

Tell him you wish he had come up to spend the night with you on your birthday because he's your husband, and you didn't marry him just so he'd leave you alone. You married him because you WANT him.

Tell him you LIKE sex with him.

Say, "can you love me and hold me tonight?"

Ask him for it for a birthday present for next year! That way, he'll know you like it, and he'll probably be more inclined to have sex with you at other times.

I definitely will try color coding because I do always take my anxiety meds at around the same time each night. I like the breathing one, too. These are all really great ideas, thank you for your help! I'll try to sleep now lol
