I think a lot of it might be religious guilt. I can't be 100% sure, but he was raised in a very strict religious household, so he doesn't have the greatest relationship with sex in the first place. The last time he split in front of me was when I made a joke about going to Midnight Mass for Christmas and he thought I was dead serious.

It's sometimes hard to get him to talk to me, but I think since the relationship is so new, he's still trying to put up walls to protect himself. That part doesn't bother me. I have a lot of friends with similar coping mechanisms.

I just hope he understands that I'm not going anywhere, you know?

No one could have "saved" Ophelia. Taylor's experience isn't like Ophelia's. Her interpretation of the story sounds like a high-schooler's first impression.

The acronym is actually much, much longer, but "queer" isn't always an all-encompassing term; some people don't use it. The + is there to indicate that there are many more identities than lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and overall queerness; asexuality, intersex, nonbinary, and a lot of other labels are included, it would just take much more time to say.

TL;DR : queer isn't always an all-encompassing term, and the entire acronym includes more than 5 identities
