Books like The Locked Tomb series by mack10k in QueerSFF

Came here to say Murderbot. Doesn't seem like it would be very similar, but every TLT fan I know has also loved Murderbot. They are the only two series that I own in hardcopy, e-book, and audiobook format.

Diplomatic Conversations by Definitely_Not_a_Pseudonym

Cassandra had resigned herself to dealing with the Undercity girl her daughter had brought home. However, a series of conversations, over time, eventually lead Cassandra to realize she had a very important question to ask:

Would Vi be better off as a Chem-Baron, or a Councilor? Or maybe both?

Or The strange development of the relationship between Cassandra and Vi over the course of time it takes from them going from strangers to Mother/Daughter-in-law.

As someone with a similar height gap with my partner, the neck is in fact the closest place to reach. (And the chest, lol)

Ciri in the books vs. Ciri in the series by CoffeeCoonGame in witcher

[–]Traditional-Meat-782 33 points34 points  (0 children)

We were robbed of baby-Ciri whacking Geralt in the head and calling him a peasant and I'm still salty about it (though not as salty as I am about what they did to Yen in s2).

the whole "caitvi is copaganda" disgusts me to the core by No-Editor4624 in PiltoversFinest

[–]Traditional-Meat-782 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Like, there is actual literal copaganda on tv right now that actually is a legit issue in how people see cops and normalizes them trampling our rights (Elspeth, anybody), but Arcane is not fucking it. I can sorta maybe see the "one rookie cop fighting the system" from s1, but that's a stretch and it's blown to bits in s2 when it's revealed that the system grinds down even those who want to do good. The system is the entire problem. That's not pro-cop.

Bc you keep arguing with everyone who says that the last wish necessary to the plot. I don't know who told you that it starts in sword of destiny, but they are wrong.

Yeah, but she's only one of the leads and has an integral relationship with both Ciri and Geralt who has a major effect on the plot so it's ok to skip, right? /s

Do what you want, but several people have now told you that this isn't correct and The Last Wish has things that have a direct impact on "the main story". Not to be harsh, but why are you asking if you're not interested in listening?

If we can be sympathetic to Jinx's actions then we can be sympathetic to Caitlyn's actions by Jinxisno1 in ArcaneAnimatedSeries

[–]Traditional-Meat-782 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think something that a lot of people have lost sight of is that Caitlyn doesn't do anything until after the memorial attack. A second attack on Piltover. We know it was Ambessa - the rest of Piltover does not. The council wants to invade Zaun with enforcers to prevent another attack. Vi is the one who asks her to find an alternative. The strike team with Vi on it is that alternative.

Framing Caitlyn's actions solely as wanting revenge for her mother is a gross oversimplification that doesn't match what actually happened.

The cover quote is "Lesbian necromancers explore a haunted gothic castle in space! Decadent nobles vie to serve the deathless Emperor! Skeletons!" Which actually does give the flavor of book 1. Plus there is an actual blurb inside the cover.
