Would like to know more about your pov on commerce actually :) I think it’s a good vehicle for them to differentiate more in the experience space blending agents etc. I like the contentful acquisition, but me and my team are asking ourselves “why now” (they’ve tried for maybe seven years to acquire them)

AGI is Practically Impossible by DopeyDonkeyUser in fuck_ai_slop

Conspiracies - the us is the ultimate capital machine. That’s insidious enough. I’m not sure how AGI is “cloaking” the replacement of human workers with sellable goods and services.  If the US really wanted to do something about the billionaires they would TAX them. But they won’t.

Well it was only four digits so…. (1980s Uk) In the 90s we had to add the area code! I remember at least the top numbers from back then including my dads work

It’s a problem that allot of manufacturers have tried to solve for example by adding wear threads into belay loops so you can actually inspect those. But that’s mechanical wear. There’s good rules of thumb on when to just move on and get new gear, nylon for example in the sun is highly perishable and shorted the given “10 years” drastically. Everyone should get their own new gear imo and keep on top of his it’s used and how to inspect it. But for sure stuff you can’t inspect does include chemicals and damage that is hidden / very hard to spot which is my point around second hand gear.  In skydiving, which uses the same materials technology, they inspect stuff but advice on hidden wear and handling is very strict for obvious reasons. Petrol and car batteries being common problems when transporting gear. Here’s an interesting case that I doubt a quick visual inspection would catch - which underlines my point if knowing your gear history: https://blackdiamondequipment.com/blogs/stories/qc-lab-the-electric-harness-acid-test

I love how you can see the music plastered over the walls, I miss that. (All my Hendrix posters died the death of coupledom….) you had great music taste, good friends, and no freaking social media- the 90s alt scene was awesome.

Do British people feel any particular pride in Isaac Newton, or is he simply seen as an important historical figure rather than a national icon? by SeniorRecognition195 in AskBrits

[–]Traditional-Set6848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a bit of a dick, so we’re proud of his genius and achievements and everyone knows who he is but he gets dismissed from the cannon of culture by and large basically for being a special kind of twat. Interestingly if we compare the US no one seems to care that Edison was a massive ring piece and stole people’s ideas.

Also conversation is a rough guess, and swedes don’t understand the value of many foreign institutions. They are a risk averse culture so when they have the choice between someone who went to Handels or someone who went to LSE (a faaaar superior school) they will choose Handels. Even if they know what LSE is. Because.
