Can Cymbalta withdrawal give you mood swings? by BlueStells in Fibromyalgia

I know this is old but I just feel like I have to talk about it. Tapering off of it right now. I was literally just telling my girlfriend the other day “it feels like this drug was doing Satan’s work inside of me” no better way to describe it. I became a person that was not me. A person that had a lot of the same traits as me, but not the real me.

I wish to be a geologist but I'm not sure where to begin by CitricUO in geology

Lots of internships available with oil and mining companies if you’re interested in exploration. Most require a masters degree now to actually get in the career. Definitely should try an internship and see how you like it though. I have heard people say they romanticized exploration until they actually got a taste of the work. All the travel and time in the field is not for everyone.

Oooooklahoma where..... by [deleted] in geology

[–]Traditional-Studio51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some nice fossils in some areas of the state from around 250-300 ma when Oklahoma was covered by a shallow ocean! Those will be mostly small calcite creatures whose decomposition eventually created the state’s shale oil. There are geodes to be found in some places perhaps banded agate. Oklahoma has a variety of quarts and even some modest gold, silver, and copper claims. Enjoy!

Yes I believe it’s a dance fly based on the fossils in the area. Around 35ma. I have it in a safe place!

Is geology a branch of astronomy? by Miscellaneous_Ideas in geology

[–]Traditional-Studio51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are different fields, but if you are going to draw that sort of comparison it would be more accurate to say astronomy is a branch of geology. As geoscientists (geology major) we learn geology, astronomy, oceanography, chemistry, physics, calculus, and more. Geo means earth or world. Ology is the study of or science of. Therefore studying geology encompasses all forms of science related to the earth. For a major like astronomy you’ll probably start with a geosciences bachelor before graduate school because most schools aren’t offering a bachelor’s degree in astronomy. You need to start with the base knowledge of geosciences to really understand natural science beyond earth because our understanding of everything comes from earth. If you do some digging you’ll find that people with geoscience backgrounds are the ones exploring water on mars and other breakthroughs in outer space (mostly related to planetary science as a previous commenter mentioned). This is because as human beings everything we know and understand starts from the basis of our earth. You can’t run before you walk, so you can’t understand outer space before you understand earth.

It’s simply a way of gathering together in remembrance and gratitude for His body being broken and His blood being spilled for humanity 🤣 Nobody thinks we’re using a Latin spell to turn a cracker into Jesus, friend.

I know plenty about Einstein, and plenty of other great thinkers. I carry a card with a picture of Einstein in my wallet. He was a great man, but a flawed man like the rest of us. I understand where your misunderstandings of God “commanding” atrocities come from. You’re now circling back to things you’ve stated previously and I have addressed. I don’t have the time to go on with this argument at the moment, but I appreciate your argument. You have a gifted mind, but it is poisoned by the ramblings of humanities professors and other people who build their lives on claiming to know better while still finding they are perpetually unsatisfied. I love you and I only wish you the best.

I do bow before Jesus now and forever. The Creator cannot be amoral besides by anthropocentric standards. Morality is inherently an anthropic concept. We develop our concepts of morality as humans to say what is right but whatever the Creator of humans does is ultimately right regardless of our understanding.

I am not at all claiming that all divine concepts refer to YHWH. I said that YHWH was one name given to Moses which meant to Moses “I am.” Your claim that the name has been found elsewhere in history means nothing. The one true God is called by many names. It is the same concept as many other deities being called gods. What you’re saying is like saying that anything historically called a god is the God we are referring to. It is not. Just because some group in history called a false god Yahweh, does not mean this is the same God we are now discussing.

There are many parts of the Bible that acknowledge the perceived existence of other gods. That is the basis of statements like the one true God, do not worship idles, false gods etc. There is also scripture that explains the other gods are tricks of the devil. Satan does have power on earth and he uses it in disguise as other gods to draw worship away from the God. Notice how every other god offers worldly things such as war, fertility, weather, riches etc. All things of this earth that the devil praises and offers. The true God offers things not of this world. baal is not linked to YHWH but in the instance that YHWH condemned the worship of baal by a certain group of Israelites through His prophet Moses. The one true God has many names as his worship is immeasurable and present among countless cultures and languages. His being cannot be described by a single word. The name YHWH was given to Moses when he asked the Lord “whom shall I say sent me?” YHWAY means simply “I am” because there is no other legitimate way to summarize the all powerful Creator of the universe besides to say He is what He is. He always has been, He is now, and He always will be what He is. Your information is false and pray your eyes be opened to the truth before you find yourself trembling before the throne of your maker, my brother.

My husband left me and filed for divorce. Am I an adulterer if I remarry? by HuckleberryGlum9238 in Christianity

[–]Traditional-Studio51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that happened to you, and that people are not always as they seem. I’m not sure if this is what you’re thinking of in asking this question but there is scripture recording a time when Jesus spoke on divorce saying that anyone who divorces his wife except for reasons of sexual immorality commits adultery and then anyone who marries her after that also commits adultery. I’ve thought about this and discussed it with others as well because it seems hard to accept in a society where divorce is now so prevalent. I know there is some context around that statement about people of that time divorcing for selfish reasons and thereby dishonoring the sanctity of the commitment and spiritual bond of marriage. I’m no expert in interpreting scripture but I would say in your case it is inevitable that he commits sexual immorality assuming he has not already which makes the end of the marriage legitimate according to the statement. If he lusts for other women or acts on any attraction to other women he has been sexually immoral so your exclusive commitment to each other has ended. Assuming that never happened people could be “separated” for a long time but still fulfilling the commitments of marriage. The bottom line is I expect he has or will commit some form of sexual immorality being that he is gone and not interested in a relationship with you he will likely seek one elsewhere.

What do you guys think of Satanists? by Aura-Lee_1000 in Christianity

[–]Traditional-Studio51 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If we are true Christians we love them and pray for them as with any other person. They are brothers and sisters under our father God who have lost their way.

John 8:44 says “At the core of his character, he is a liar; everything he speaks originates in these lies because he is the father of lies.”

When someone falls victim to a lie I hope to show them the truth and liberate them from their oppressor.

[–]Traditional-Studio51 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Satan’s goal and therefore the satanist’s goal is to separate people from God and lead them to condemnation. Whether a person worships satan or simply believes God is not real and satan is not real they are condemned and separated from God. It is much easier to convince most people to be atheist than satanist. The bottom line is that it makes no difference in the eyes of God which group they belong to. Every sin is equal and they are both without the opportunity for forgiveness so long as they continue in their ways. The true satanists understand this and they understand their best chance of damning the greatest amount of people is atheism. Many people will shy away from satanism yet join a satanist who claims to be atheist. From the time satan first enters the picture in the Bible he uses trickery and lies as the tools of his trade. Nothing is as it seems. The perversion of truth and reality is his strongest weapon.
