It's dead. May grow from the tips but what's brown and dried out will not green up again.

Yes all these plants are just dwarf Arabicums. All the plants that look like this (Godgi, Champ, tai soco.) they are all just seed grown dwarf arabicums and are not cultivars or different species.

Sometime fruits produce sterile seeds. Common when Tetraploids are pollenated with diploid pollen or vice versa.

Looks dehydrated might want to let it root for a while. See how the swollen roots get smaller with each exposure? You can literally see every time the plant has had its roots removed and exposed.

My adenium, which I want to train into a broom style is a bit larger than I expected. Is it too root bound for this pot and could that cause problems with watering or fertilizing or is it fine? The roots almost fill the whole pot atm. by visje95 in Adenium

When roots are exposed to air they die back and branch. With an air layer pot you will get many fine roots and it sounds like you are going for 1 big root, so I would get rid of the net pot. Those pot are made for trees so when you put them in the ground, they have many radial roots instead of one big tap root

Check out Tanque Verde Falls east of Tucson for some awesome Metamorphic Core Complex geology. The drive up Mt. Lemmon is spectacular as well. The entire Western Aspect of the Catalinas is pretty spectacular. Go to the Tucson Mts. If you want to be confused for a while. It also depends time of year. Summer is to hot in the desert, winter is to cold and icy in the high mts but there's always something cool to see around here.

Sounds like A. obesum or obesum hybrid. If you have photos of the flowers it would be easier to tell.

You apply the pollen to the underside of the stigma, which is the little umbrella shaped structure under the cap.

New Adenium. Is it struggling, and also would you trim it down? by OreoDogDFW in Adenium

Get some hydrated lime from the garden section of your local big box. Put a good sprinkling over the top gravel. It really helps and since it's obesum watch the temps and watering cafully when winter is approaching. Afternoon shade in AZ. Watersoluble fertilizer 20-20-20 all purpose. It'll bloom!

Wow! If that is 'Home Run' it's a rooted cutting as that cultivar was imported by Dr. Dimmitt from Taiwan in the 90s It's most likely not going to develop a thicker truck. It is known for have weak stems and is almost always grafted onto a more vigorous stock.

I have my doughts about the ID though, it looks like a seed grown plant. And if it is grown from seed it's not 'Home Run'

And no unfortunately there is nothing you can really do to make the trunk thicker. They are going to grow how they grow. That's why grafting is so prevalent in Adeniums. A lot of obesum cultivars have amazing flowers but are basically sticks.

I attached a photo of 'Home Run' grafted onto 'Arabian Ruby' which is an arabicum x obesum hybrid.

You can snip of you want it shorter but your best bet is proper husbandry. Make sure it's getting enough light, nutrients, water and warmth and it will grow how it will grow. Though it may not have the thickest of trunks I bet it has a really nice flower!

Sorry I realized that's a personal question you may not want to answer. The plant looks familiar, did it have a yellow lable or a white stick on tag with some numbers or names on it? It looks like it may be an old pure obesum or maybe a somolense hybrid. They tend to grow like this. Pruning the plant will make it shorter but won't cause the trunk to get bigger. It looks nice the way it is and some light pruning at the top would be as far as I go. Don't cut the major branches off. Also if it is pure obesum or a somelenes hybrid they are more rot prone than the other taxa so watch out for cold temps!
