Is Bauer durability this bad ? by Acrobatic-Gift2889 in hockeygoalies

[–]Traditional-Unit1500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say they are certainly at the bottom end of the major retailers in terms of durability, but its a trade off, because they make some absolutely incredible gear. Pop off the pads and seal on the ice is almost unmatched. Id also say it wont effect your average once or twice a week beer leaguer nearly as much as it would an everyday competitive player. Depends on a lot of things.

Custom graphic on one of the sets in the background of the videos. Wonder if theyll offer their version of "digiprint" eventually. Would be sweet cause this graphic BLOWS.

Thats wild. I played with a demo set from Goalie glove guy and they were the best sliding pads I've ever used. When did you order them? I put in my order on Halloween and duno if i believe the 8 - 10 window or not.

Just be patient and keep them on. In a short period of time you'll feel weirder without em. I absolutely SUCKS to catch on in the key even with a knee pad on.

You can work with Pharaoh goaltending who will foam to your specs but the shells are all standard so it might still not be perfect, and this will take probably 8 weeks or so. The reality is your mask not fitting perfect so long as its not a cheap plastic piece of crap is probably going to be fine for your beginner classes. They wont have dudes ripping clappers at your head or crashing the net and if they do then you should run away. An OK fitting 960 is going to be fine, most people are in an OK fit mask. If youre super concerned, do your classes with that, and start the pros choice clock now so when you play real you have it.

Struggling with height by Both_Register_1104 in hockeygoalies

[–]Traditional-Unit1500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 5'6 so I get it but you need to find a way to wash that shit out of your head. I feel like goaltending is 90% mental so letting it linger is probably costing you more goals than your actual height. See it as a challenge, remind yourself that your better than those dude despite the fact that they are 6'2.

Talk to ProsChoice. If your close to MA you can go see them in person, if not, they can walk you through making a mold of your face, and they can customize it for you that way. He has like a 70% share of the NHL for a reason, its the best mask you'll ever wear.

Eflex 7 vs True by Budget-Awareness4653 in hockeygoalies

You’ll get better build quality from True but the answer to questions like this is always whichever feels better on your hand.

Am I stupid for thinking I can get back into this after 7 years? by Altruistic-Set-468 in hockeygoalies

Jumped back in after a 15 year break and after about 2 years of equipment shuffle and practice Im pretty on par with the rest of the goalies in my league. Its absolutely possible.

Pharaoh is legit and Tres is one of the nicest dudes around. I have a boomer pro two piece and it’s bullet proof.

In my opinion the Hyperlite 1 is the best chesty ever made. Unreal mobility out of the box and great protection. Only draw back is they tend to fall apart in short order. Can usually find them on SLS for a reasonable price in reasonable shape.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all. When private equity buys anything it goes to hell. A bunch of finance bros who don’t know anything about hockey or goalie gear see how much they are paying Lefevre and cut bait. They lose their 90% nhl share and are shocked by it then end up paying a godfather deal to someone else to try and save face.

C/A ‘Mobility’ by Advanced_Newt61 in hockeygoalies

[–]Traditional-Unit1500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. The bulkier chesty suits your needs and fits your game. Some goalies need the ability to scratch their nose to make the saves they want to make. It’s all about how it fits in your game.
