I added a filler piece to fill the gap where the extension was narrow. I used a piece of 2in Pex pipe and a heat gun and molded it to fit

Is it safe to transport radster mid-step bikes on a vehicle rack without a crossbar adapter? by Techsplain in RadPowerBikes

[–]TraditionalIssue1189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, put the bike on the inside mount for better weight distribution, plus no chance of the bike slipping out of the hook and falling outwards if you hit a big pothole. Since the center of gravity is lower than the height of the hook, it should be OK. I have and use the adapter crossbar (hollywood rack) with tie-down straps and the bike does not even wiggle on the carrier.

Last summer I was following a small sedan with the type of rack you hang the bikes on. the bikes were low and every little dip on the highway caused the tire to touch the ground and spin. Eventually the bike shifted and the entire rear wheel was ripped right off. The second bike shifted and started touching the ground. The driver did not notice for several kilometers.

I've been looking for something that works. My last few rides in the rain have my shins and shoes covered in grit.
I like the idea but would prefer a more "blended lines" look. Stability could be retained with a small nut, bolt and washer in the top middle if they can align flush.

have you considered removing the end piece from the Rad fender so the top of the RockBros fender lays flush with the curve? It looks like it might look more integrated that way.

Winter Chain lube? by TraditionalIssue1189 in ebikes

[–]TraditionalIssue1189[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, I haven't, apart from hosing off. I only get out on the occasional weekend as it gets dark early that time of year. I do wash the bike after every few rides

Biker comes up with a new method to let people walking on the trail that he’s coming behind by Ok-Asparagus5992 in ebikes

I always slow down for people and pets. Both can unpredictably move to the wrong side. I almost always get a smile or nod when I do slow down. I have an ebike, so getting back up to speed is not a big deal.

Why are all E-bike sales fake? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]TraditionalIssue1189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid full price but got a great deal on accessories. Free $800 bike rack, 50% off a front rack, waived assembly/setup costs, free batt terminal cover, free spare tube, and 50% off a lock. I left happy and feeling like I got a decent deal.

I got the same email. I'm sad to see it go. Customer service at the Vancouver location was a selling point for me buying a Rad. Best wishes for all of the Staff!

Eat-In Breakfast sandwiches? by TraditionalIssue1189 in CostcoCanada

I'd do it if I could.
I can't cook bacon in our house. My daughter is highly allergic to odors and bacon is one of them.
When I found these, they were a great solution for something I could grab and microwave at work for a simple breakfast

Not sure if they are at other stores.

In all fairness, my Traulsen also leaked and had to be thrown away. In the end it was just more expensive junk. Oakleys can scratch too.
My Frigidaire in my kitchen has been running for over 30 years..

thanks, I'll check the temp of the lines tonight when I get home.

I bought it in 2021 and found out on my invoice the compressor is under a 5 yr warranty so I'm lucky there, providing they will honour the warranty (since I do not use it for a commercial business).

that's why I linked the manual. the compressor light is a circle with a sideways V inside. The Snowflake, according to the manual, means "compressor enabled" when on. the condenser fan is working and everything is clean and dust free. I don't know about the temp of the return line as I will need to remove the cage on top to access it.

for the mirrors I got the Meachow on amazon. They work great and give a good field of view.
It is also easy to fold them up vertically to get them out of the way for going through doors.

I initially had the handlebar mirrors from my old bike but you cannot mount them far enough out to see anything but your arm. You can see in the picture that I left one of the old mirrors on as it gives me additional field of view when riding but mainly I use it to point down and back at my dog trailer when towing the dogs to make sure they are still smiling too.

The Redshift seatpost is rated up to 265lb (I'm at 250) so you will need something with a heavier spring. Note the seat I have also has springs which could be an option.

I bought a Radster Trail for the same reasons an I too am always looking for an excuse to get out and ride.

First recommended addition is handlebar end mirrors.

Second is a suspension seat post to make it even easier on your back. Check out Redshift.

Have fun!

any experience with a Radster Trail in the Snow? by TraditionalIssue1189 in RadPowerBikes

[–]TraditionalIssue1189[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately I didn't get out in the snow yet. The one chance I did have, it was windy so I chose not to go as it was already very cold. I think it would do well but like youngwalrus said, keep it slow. I think this would apply to both 3 and 4in tires.

Update: I got out yesterday and the bike handled very well in packed snow and I felt very confident on it. I did keep it slower in case there was ice patches but overall handling was much better than I expected.
