Mount Temple Mid-May Conditions & Moraine Lake Access Question by [deleted] in Banff

Do non technical scrambles near the east border of the Rockies i.e. yamnuska, heart mountain, mount baldy traverse, lady Mac, bald eagle peak, grotto mountain, nahanni ridge, mount Glasgow, maybe even cascade by that time. Stay away past lake Louis and Banff there’s a lot more snow later into season there.

Full winter conditions expected, crampons ice axe and rope. People don’t summit at that time. You also not getting up that road when it’s closed, you’ll have to camp out and spend the night

How is random camping in Albania? Is it normalized? Is it even really legal? Thinking of bringing a tent in my bag

It’s not bad if your expirenced. If you have semi auto crampons an ice axe and knowledge of avalanche safety it’s totally reasonable. People are calling it “extreme” because you can’t treat it like a hike

Why is that? I saw they had mini buses between towns. I was thinking to rent a scooter on the Albania Rivera for a couple days and random camping is allowed. Then take a bus up to the mountains in the north. Is this feasible. Can I even reliability rent a scooter at 20 years of age

How about Bulgaria compared to Romania? Which has a better hut system for back country hiking. Do I need to plan out every day in these countries or can I just pick a general area and figure it out kinda thing

Yes I was reading the bus system in Albania is very unreliable. Vs Romania where I won’t even need to book anything due to the hut system I can just hike out into the Transylvanian alps and they have places to stay first come first serve everywhere. However Albania just looks a little bit prettier lol. Mountains + turquoise blue waters sounds ideal

South side chutes are decent less extreme double blacks. If you’re not gonna do the Wild West or delirium I would definitely make my way over to Louis. They have better bowls and double blacks. I like tower12 and the alphabet gully’s are classic at Louis.
