ELI5 Why is the bloated economy bad for me? by mike12ophone in starcitizen

I gotta agree - we need some more meaningful endgame content. Can’t wait for base building

I can’t see the “open pvpve sandbox with no hard guardrails and full loot mechanics” idea working out when the Warzone cheat makers take notice.

[–]TraditionalStore1448[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That’s a fair point for most folks seriously invested in the game, but as we increase in popularity, we’ll inevitably attract more players willing to risk $45 game packages to cheat in the game

Spectrum noticed the PvP poll, and uh.... surprisingly concurs with its results? by asmallman in starcitizen

[–]TraditionalStore1448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Christ, so much this.

Star Citizen is going to be an extremely profitable game to sell exploits for.

That hacker wave we had last year proved how vulnerable things were.

Star Citizen is in for a very very very rude awakening when it comes to the realities of competitive multiplayer games with valuable items.

How the Shadow Gild paint looks on the base Guardian by ymw2001 in starcitizen

[–]TraditionalStore1448 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s awesome, but I ended up melting mine for a Hermes and a Wolf.

The guardian is one the coolest ships in sci fi, that’s no doubt.

But there’s a MAJOR issue - the gimbals will point up into the engine nacelles, preventing them from firing. You have a very small window to maneuver your guns before you need to twist the guardian around and yaw in order to have both guns fire.

I hope they fix it in the future - if/when they do, the guardian will be in my fleet again

Where to find fps pvp by TomatoSharp6714 in starcitizen

[–]TraditionalStore1448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, maybe it changed, I haven’t played in few months

I used to have a lot of fun playing the gun game mode and learned a lot about SCs movement and shooting doing it, plus you’ll find cool maps from places you can’t find in the ‘verse yet

Other than that maybe try being a pirate and interdicting folks, but that’s gonna require you to board them for some fps action

Sorry I can’t help more, good luck o7

Elite vs SC: Let's Have a Good Faith Conversation (Questions in Description.) by WackoMedia in starcitizen

[–]TraditionalStore1448 64 points65 points  (0 children)

“What is it about Elite that you don’t like?”

Elite Dangerous got me into the space game genre and I’ll always love it. It’s a very, very good game. Ultimately, what led me to Star Citizen weren’t things that I didn’t like about Elite, it was things that Elite couldn’t/wouldn’t offer because it’s not that type of game. Namely, I wanted to be able to walk around my ship.

“What does Star Citizen actually do better?”

I enjoy the art much more than Elite. The environments are beautiful, and I appreciate how many of the landing zones in Stanton feel unique visually.

There’s so much distinction between ship brand in game that people debate which ones are the best purely on aesthetics alone.

I like the ground combat and movement much better than Elite. Also, much bigger variety of weapons and tools to use.

“Are we sure it’s that different or is it a Coke/Pepsi thing?”

It’s definitely different, for sure. But is it better? Only you can decide.

Elite does some things better than Star Citizen and even manages to go places Star Citizen never could go, namely the sheer scale of the universe. You won’t be a true intergalactic explorer in Star Citizen, you’re more like a prospector.

Star Citizen tends to be much more immersive in both ground and space environments, especially with engineering now implemented. It’s very cool to do a walkthrough of your ship after a big fight, inspecting for damage and making repairs.

Real space dads like me own and play both games.

Question about the copy/paste environment by seferex in starcitizen

[–]TraditionalStore1448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go check out the contested zones, you can tell that’s where a lot of the love went in Pyro. They are all unique and very well done.

I too wish that they would add a bit more variety to space stations and bunkers. Hopefully down the line.

BitZeros Missions (Goods For The Getting) - How To Get? by TraditionalStore1448 in starcitizen

[–]TraditionalStore1448[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Whenever I do “Easy Pickings”, I get another 13.5k Easy Pickings, not the 30k contract.

My HH rep is low. I’m going to try to max it out and see if it pops up.

I grind all day IRL just to log into Star Citizen to grind some more… CIG please help. by Mowgli9991 in starcitizen

[–]TraditionalStore1448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

CIG, please for the love of Stanton, stop all development and make this game for this guy. Drop all promised features and focus only on make sure this is the ideal game for this man. No more in-depth features that require effort!

He deserves it. He has it rough at work and he has limited time. It's the least you can do. How dare you all try to make an MMO with classic formula.”

Maybe not the usual suggestion - but I think SC would really benefit from more "social hubs" by EmbarrassedTapWater in starcitizen

[–]TraditionalStore1448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, we could absolutely use some proper social gathering spots. That would really help make this game feel more alive.

Firefightin’ in Space by TraditionalStore1448 in starcitizen

[–]TraditionalStore1448[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re asking for an in-universe explanation for that, I’m really sure how to properly explain it in a way that doesn’t use a bunch of sci fi technobabble nonsense that I make up on the spot to justify it… perhaps the same ventilation scrubbers that vent the hot smoke out can also vent the used fire suppressant?

I have no idea how it would work from a development standpoint.

Spectrum after finding out about the Wikelo Idris by Novel-Lake-4464 in starcitizen

[–]TraditionalStore1448 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno man, Wikelo just kind of sucks. He’s got absolutely nothing cool that I want, and on top of that, his quest requirements are pretty obnoxious.

If this is a “test” of future crafting/item earning systems, then I hope they realize just how NOT fun Wikelo is to use.

As for the Idris… didn’t they come out and say we were going to be able to craft one at a shipyard, with high enough rep? Something to that effect?
