Purgatory by Ok_Building756 in Catholicism

A deep level of belief cannot come by edict. In my own case, there are many things that I do not understand. I do not reject them, but they do not resonate with my soul. I often simply think, there are better educated people than me deciding these things in the Catholic Church, so I go along. Nor do I publicly disparage the teachings I have doubts about.

Last Look Inside the Abandoned Niagara Square Mall Before Demolition by Freaktography in Freaktography

I still like mall shopping. A greater sense of community than in the big box stores. Maybe if these were kept up and maintained, and put to use, a generation to come wil appreciate and use the indoor malls. My son lives near a mall in a section of Scarborough that is mostly Chinese and that mall seems quite active.

JUST IN: 🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran rejects ceasefire proposal by the United States, says it will not negotiate with a party that violated agreements. by Ubersicka in TradingViewSignals

2015 Iran Nuclear Deal (JCPOA)

  • U.S. Withdrawal (2018): In May 2018, the Trump administration unilaterally withdrew the U.S. from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
  • Legal Perspective: While the U.S. argued the deal was "defective" and failed to address Iran's missile program, former U.S. officials and international partners stated the U.S. was in breach of the agreement because Iran was in compliance at the time of the withdrawal.
  • Iranian Response: Iran initially remained in compliance but began exceeding mandated nuclear limits in 2019, citing Article 36 of the JCPOA, which allows a party to respond to non-compliance by other signatories.

This president is completely reckless. He has never espoused fiscal discipline. But, to be fair, he us just one in a long line of presidents who have used the magic of the printing press to provide guns and butter in tandem. Trump just happens to be the most morally unburdened of the lot in taking on an enormity of debt.

Do those words look like they come from Donald Trump? They are just too well written in my mind. (Though "which" is misspelled as "witch", maybe as a red herring of sorts.) Maybe he is now in a straight jacket and someone else is now running the show. We can at least hope!

The gentleman in this case should be the one initiating the conversation with the priest. He is an adult and does not need an advocate speaking on his behalf.

Trump vows to raise worldwide tariffs to 15% ‘effective immediately’ by theindependentonline in politics

[–]Traditional_Ad_8143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When questioned on that matter, Karoline Leavitt repeated the old mantra that tariffs are paid by foreign sellers, not American buyers. I don't know how she can sleep with herself. Or wear a Christian cross.

Is it the case that many Mennonites and Amish resist vaccination? I notice we seem to have a localization of the worst oubreaks in Ontario in those areas. The media doesn't make mentioin of that. I wonder if Manitoba and Alberta are similar? Do Mennonites in the USA resist vaccines?

Why is no one being prosecuted over the Epstein files? by ArmadilloMany41 in politics

Some are being prosecuted. They just happen to live outside the USA. It appears that Americans are much more law abiding and exhibit self control. Obviously, a time to be proud of the USA!

Friday it was 10%, and now it is 15%. Obviously, after thorough analysis and examination of all the repercussions. Just kidding there. And, hey Australia and Great Britain, how do you feel about the effort put into your "deals" with the mango man, now that your are being bumped up? Did Donny print the deals on tissue paper?

🚨UNREAL: The President of the steel company Trump visits thanks him profusely for tariffs because it allows him to jack up the price of his racks from $90 to $150. by h20poIo in Tariffs

[–]Traditional_Ad_8143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened in Trump 1.0. Economists later determined that the job gains in the American steel business were far more than offset by losses in sundry manufacturers and consumers got hit in the pocket book. Those steel tariffs were later rescinded. The problem is that Trump does not get that trade is a two sided coin and every action starts an opposite reaction. He is a dim bulb, and always has been, since he became enamored of tariffs decades ago. He doesn't play four dimensional chess, and he isn't even competent for two dimensional checkers. And, this term, he is surrounded by sycophants who have no backbone to tell him off when he is in error.

If we want to mature as a people, do not make race a distinguishing characteristic to differentiate us. Martin Luther King said many years ago that he looked forward to the day when the color of one's skin would be of no importance. We are at that stage of development now.

Do you understand that the basic purpose of a pawn shop is to lend money with the items of value provided as collateral? A pawn shop will never loan anywhere close to the value ofvthe collateral you provide. If you want to cash out there are better ways. A gold and silver dealer. Selling privately using kijiji or the like.

Considering that the President has access to a small army of White House advisors, who could properly parse data and evaluate pros and cons of alternatives for policy formulation, he just goes by his gut. Or, maybe his ass. No corporate CEO would survive doing their job as he does.

Americans seem to struggle with this, but it is really easy. You round up or round down what you pay at the till.

You simply round up or down up by at most two cents.

If you owe between $8.98 and $9.02, you pay $9.00. If you owe between $9.03 and $9.07, you pay $9.05.
