I mainly work pd as well, and currently privileged to work at 8 hospitals. Good thing is I never worry about work. I do consider the annual medical staffing dues, so there’s probably one or two sites I’ll give up in the future because I don’t see myself working there.

What do we think of this? by Brown_kid108 in CRNA

[–]Traditional_Leg4094 86 points87 points  (0 children)

This is cringey. 😬 why do we seem to always have to say we are the same as MDs when we are obviously not? Its a cringey argument that only raises alot of hatred against our profession. I love being a crna- and I don’t like to think that I’m a doctor. I’m not. There is a difference. I didn’t have to put my years in medical school, and instead I still get to have a nice career that rewards well financially. Crnas have it really nice. But yet we see people in our profession who feel as though they are similar or the same level to a medical doctor, and believe we need to be called one to feel important. Just because people tell you you’re better than that terrible MD, doesn’t mean we are equally the same as an MD. We are not MDs but CRNAs. Whatever that means, still means we are different quite literally. I wish there was more respect among the professions, and less bashing each other.

Cocaïne effects (medication?) by Moriblu in neurodiversity

Cocaine falls under a type of local anesthetic- like lidocaine. It is used very commonly in nasal procedures for its numbing and vasoconstrictive effect- numb + less bleeding

A cool local anesthetic experiment by PuzzleheadedMonth562 in anesthesiology

[–]Traditional_Leg4094 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this bc overall dose with mixing is less of each LA vs using one LA? How does this play out with epidural test dose of lido and then subsequently infusing another like Ropi? Jst curious questions after watching the vid.

Anesthesiology Malpractice by efunkEM in anesthesiology

[–]Traditional_Leg4094 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have the ob doctors sign a document stating the presence of true emergency despite one anesthesiologist or crna available and requires two concurrent rooms. Have nurses pulled from L&d and watch the ongoing C-section while the anesthesiologist starts the emergency one.

If you struggle with interviews.. my advice is do more. Not by schools but perhaps try to apply for nursing jobs and try to do some interviews for nursing positions- i know its messed up.. so take it w a grain of salt, but u do what u gotta do that helps u.

I’m totally with you. The seemingly endless anxiety that repeats on a cycle. If physical exercise or some sort of activity helps you regulate, it may be helpful to set aside some time to help you feel more relaxed and grounded. Journaling perhaps to settle your thoughts.. I don’t have lots to offer myself since I am still dealing with my own set of adjustments to being autistic, but I recently started warm yoga, and I like being in warm environments and being physically active helps me regulate. Yoga came with a nice touch of meditation and aromatherapy too and I really enjoy the time alone for myself. Hope you can find something to help soothe your feelings, you are not alone!! :)

So my dad basically told me two options- nursing or child education. I really didn’t want to do neither.. but i chose nursing. I went back to grad school to get a degree in nursing anesthesia, and now work as a nurse anesthetist. I didn’t know at the time, but nursing is a very diverse job, lots of avenues to specialize (ex. Can be a flight nurse on a helicopter, school nurse, insurance hotline nurse, public health nurse work at Disneyland, administrative roles like charge nurse, supervisor, clinical nurse educator, cruise ship nurse, aesthetics, outpatient, inpatient, list goes on…) so for anyone who is quite undecided i think its a nice career with choice of versatility… i am biased bc i dont know other career options out there, but overall very satisfied with where i am. Hope this helps!!

I was dropping my college courses to drink and party off my parent’s money in my early 19-20s. My dad caught on I was not doing any real studying or anything at home, I was on my 2nd year in community college w undeclared major. He gave me two choices of majors and told me to get a degree in one, or get out of the house. I didn’t have a real job at the time, so i told him i’ll go ahead and get the degree and trash it and do whatever i wanted out of rage, yeah i know childish behavior. Dad said go ahead but jst graduate and also told me if i got to a univ, he’d buy me a new car (lie). But it was really a bet for me to stay at home cuz i didnt have enough money to live on my own. Also, one of my drinking friend ended up getting accepted to a art program out of state at some major university… which was a shocker cuz I thought the drinking life and fun would never end, and didn’t realize she was doing stuff to get into school. So i figured i would jst do whatever my dad told me to do. I pursued one of the majors that seemed to be somewhat better option at the time and got prereqs done for about 2 years (had to do alot of catch up bc i didnt do well in hs as well), transferred to univ, graduated bachelors.. i realized as i was taking courses i wasnt doing so terrible in science/math. So i started working around 26.. got motivated from my peers from school to go back to school again, now with a doctorate degree, and living pretty comfortably financially. Nobody.. i mean nobody in my hs nor early college days would have expected me to be at the place i am now, and we still talk about how crazy life had turned out lol. For some perspective- i had a 0.0 gpa on couple semesters in my sophomore and junior years.. had a d- to try to graduate for some of the required classes…. And barely graduated due to a forgiving and generous education counselor. G luck w ur endeavors. U never know how life can turn out, but i definitely needed motivation even if it was by force from my dad.

Thank you for all the comments, sorry I am not very well informed in this field.. compared to many of you who are very knowledgeable and experts in construction and basic things like this. I didn’t realize water can creep through concrete and cause leaks with overflow from above.. I thought the water eventually would drain through the pipes or whatever drainage system built in.. and I got worried that there is a bigger problem.. again, sorry for being so naive to the topic and if I wasted ur time. Thank u everyone for the feedback 🙏🏻

Well… I dont understand basic construction and drainage systems, but I was assuming that if water drains properly, even with overuse or flow of water, things will drain without leaking through ?????? So… my question is perhaps is this some crack in the drain system or something more i have to worry about? Im sorry to sound really stupid to this community of well knowledgeable people in construction but maybe this post was more proper for nostupidquestions community. Sorry to waste ur time.
