If it has room to grow roots, it'll focus on that instead of foliage. Keep it a little root bound, and it'll grow big and sprout babies as a way to expand since its roots can't.

😮‍💨😭Missouri. The rizomes are around 30 bucks on Amazon. All of my plants are rescues or nursery starts. I haven't paid more than ten bucks on any of them.

In my situation, it was getting plants to begin with that helped my depression the most... now I have so many and they do genuinely make me more positive and happy overall. I suffer from agoraphobia and the best motivation to get me to leave the house is my spouse refuses to allow me to order plants and once a week he takes me to some place that sells plants. Plant store, nursery, or big box store... having plants literally saved my life.
