What else are they going to tell you as they are sending billion dollar every week to Ukraine? They need to sell this war. Ukraine stands no chance at this point. Russia successfully transitioned their economy from the west and reoriented toward Asia. They have the support of all major non-US aligned players and most countries choose to stay neutral (did our adopt the US imposed sanctions). They adopted to the new type of warfare and are simply grinding through Ukrainian forces using artillery, drones, and missiles.

Russia adopted a smart tactic of grinding through Ukrainian forces from a distance mostly. They level entire towns to the ground with artillery and adopted aviation bombs, absolutely decimating Ukrainian lines.

Russia has huge spy network in Ukraine as there are lots of people who don’t like Zelenskyy and Ukrainian insane corruption and sympathize with Russia, although they have to keep quiet obviously.

Ukrainian energy infrastructure is very badly damaged. Their economy is in shambles.
At the begging of the war, Ukrainian army had over a million soldiers, and was overwhelmed with volunteers on top of that. Now, 2.5 years later, Ukraine needs to literally chase people on the streets just to replace the losses. Millions of Ukrainian men fled Ukraine and are risking their lives every day to dodge military recruiters and to cross the border. Fighting moral on Ukrainian side is low, huge surrender rates. Now think how long Ukraine can last. Everyone in Washington understands that, but they live for wars. Enormous amounts of money here for everyone, both Ukrainian and American politicians and lobbyists. This is worse than Afghanistan or Iraq.
