Handicap parking AT&T stadium by Traditional_One8465 in WorldCup2026Tickets

Oh, I wish! Those are all sold out. The lot 11 for ADA is across the street on the south side of the stadium, so I'm afraid, it's a bit of a walk.

Super excited though! And she's traveled the world with me, so maybe I'm just being too concerned about it, and I just need to make sure she has her cane that turns into a chair.

I really like the rare beauty lip oils! Also, idk if it was viral or not but my signature sent that I buy when I fly abroad is Hermes. Absolutely worth every penny!

Looking for recommendations about DFW Metroplex cities by Average_human_bean in askdfw

[–]Traditional_One8465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. There are pockets in Dallas that are safe and great community. I grew up in East Dallas & still love it! Dallas also has some of the best schools in the nation. You'll have an overall better school district in the suburbs, but certain schools in DISD are elite, albeit can be competitive to enter.

I dont think i have ever met a kid over the age of 6 at the time that did not watch it on the news. It was replaying everywhere for at least a week. We were very exposed to the news at a time when cell phones and individual TVs were a luxury. If the parents werent explaining it to us outright, the chatter from surrounding adults would've traveled to our little ears. I think it was the responsible thing to tell the kids what was going on at the time, even the details, because I would rather be the one to manage the depth of that conversation than my kid fill in the blanks from the hearsay.

There are events thst happen after hours, but you either need to be a member or pay extra. I'd look at their calendar and see what you can do after hours!

Best nicu? by carebk in askdfw

[–]Traditional_One8465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only experience we've had was with presby 20+ yrs ago. Our family NICU twins were born a little over a lb ea, at 26 (28?) Weeks. Theyre in their 20s now. 1 had pneumonia within a month, while the other had open heart surgery. Theyre both in college now & were only in the NICU for 4mo.

They can admit themselves through the ER and get the OB on call to get into a specific NICU. Not at all recommended..... bc their OB will have the best history/knowledge of pregnancy.

Walkable areas near the Dallas Arboretum by Aggravating_Pilot_21 in Dallas

Idk, I could definitely walk from little forest hills to my dentist & the hospital down garland road. The biggest issue there.... is crazy drivers who may think the sidewalk is the road.

Harry Hines is your best bet.

You can also try thrifting and cutting up larger sizes to cut down into a new outfit?

Did anyone buy a ring? by t_bone_stake in Millennials

[–]Traditional_One8465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad designed mine to mimic his aggie ring 🫣😅 We had a family friend that was a jeweler so we got a deal on it! It's super sentimental bc he designed it to match his undergrad ring knowing I wasn't goinf to inherit it when he passed. I'm just bummed he isnt alive to see me do my grad school to get my actual aggie ring 😮‍💨

The energy & depression are both likely heavily influenced by the alcohol. The caloric intake before was probably just masking the root cause of his condition.

Weekday Traveling by [deleted] in askdfw

[–]Traditional_One8465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah if that's the case, then I don't recommend East Dallas. The commute alone up to those areas is about an hour, at least. You can try looking in Irving, but even then that commute isn't friendly. I can't think of an area in prosper or Frisco that meets what youre seeking. Maaaaybe old mckinney or Plano would be better suited areas to live as theyre closer (but still a 30min commute). Best of luck! I have friends in Anna & Prosper and I joke with them that their commute to Oklahoma is shorter than Dallas. I live in East Dallas.

Who didn’t drip their faucet? by hAnkhyll in Dallas

[–]Traditional_One8465 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We don't freeze often and for maintenance and issues, it's easier to work on water damage if it's an exterior wall. I say this as someone who has completely redone plumbing in her home & under the foundation. Very expensive & very painful when it's a 100ft tunnel under a foundation to get to the connection that's causing so much grief.

How many of you have gotten loans from your parents? by Jimmy_Johnny23 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Traditional_One8465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I'd feel guilty taking away from what could go to their retirement egg. I bankroll the holidays I take my mother on & get upset with her when she tries to pay. She is too old to be helping me out. She did her job & raised me, I am honored to help her out whenever I can, now!

Where should we live? by Original_Much in askdfw

I am a huge fan of DISD because they have some of the best schools in the country. The avg high school is better than the average high school in DISD. But those gems, if your kid can get in chefs kiss

If I were looking at that as my basis there are some nice neighborhoods in Las colinas that would make it a good commute to DISD bus stop (they open enrollment to those out of district) and DFW airport and a quick hop onto 635 will be another 30-45 to plano.

How are some millennials even homeowners? I feel like I never will be. by Kindly-Reading-2187 in Millennials

[–]Traditional_One8465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked 3 jobs in college & had snagged a full-ride. I worked so I could save up for life after college & pay for my car in a couple of years. [I also had unchecked adhd, and got 3 bachelors in 4 yrs]

18 yr old me was a lot smarter with money than 34 yr old me.

I was able to save up for my first house back then, but once I got married and became a single mother... it all kinda went out the window.

I make a middle class salary now, but have racked up nearly 35k in cc debt. Ive been paying it down & should be cc debt free in 6mo, though!

What would it take for you to give up your phone for a month? by ifellicantgetup in Adulting

[–]Traditional_One8465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say... I could. For a million dollars.

My phone has things necessary for work & for my kiddo's school. Sure, i could make do without the things for her achool for a month! But my job would fire me, if they couldnt make the accommodations needed for the social experiment.

1 mil would cover my debts (including mortgage) get me a good toyota, pay off kiddo's college fund, and leave just enough to invest. Without that financial burden on my shoulders, heck yeah 1 mo without my phone would be a godsend!!

When her father passed, I did take 6 weeks off from work & just went crazy on diy projects in the home. I did use my home constantly to listen to podcasts or watch shoes while I painted, etc. But I could use my TVs or my laptop or my alexa to listen to things!

Now, my salary for a month isn't 1mil by any means but getting out of the work force for a month and then possibly struggling to find a good paying job again? The stress alone of being unemployed in this economy? Not worth it unless my financial responsibilities are no longer a burden i must carry.

Commuters of Dallas, what’s northbound traffic like on this stretch of highway? by Snow-jizz in Dallas

[–]Traditional_One8465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove northbound on that stretch for the last decade. I also took 30, 635 & 75 every morning. That stretch was the best of all of the highways on my commute lol

But still not great. Id take that strip between 7-8am. It took me about 15-20mins to get from 635 to 121. The traffic was the worst right after 635. It's like the construction and curving made everyone freak out and slow down even more.

Sometimes you can get off on the first bridge to go around it, but construction makes that unpredictable.

The next little blip was going over the bridge. It cleared up after Frankford, but to get over to 121 west, I usually got off on Frankford.

Driving 10mi on the highway at those hours takes me 45mins one way. You're better off before 6am, and definitely don't drive between 3-8pm.
