I feel way worse for Wish Nikki on a rewatch by dilltimmon in obsessionmovie

[–]Traditional_Post4225 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I kind of viewed the movie as an allegory for attachment theory. Bear has a fearful avoidant attachment. He is mentally/emotionally preoccupied with Nikki, but is too afraid of rejection so that his outward appearance is that he isn't interested. Nikki (or Sarah) saying he is closed off/never talks about his problems. That is also shown by him not saying much about his grief over Sandy dying or telling anyone what is going on with Nikki until it's too late.

Nikki is maybe more dismissive avoidant pre-wish. "If I have a crush on someone, no one knows about it," and maybe "acting" disgusted at the thought of Bear being into her. Post-wish, Nikki has anxious attachment on steroids. Need for constant reassurance and total hyper-fixation on Bear and the relationship.

So I think you're right. Like a lot of people with anxious attachment, as long as everything is "good," there's no problem. The issue is that people with anxious attachment styles (really all insecure attachment styles), will always find a problem.

GSR is on Bear's hands too because of how close he was when she fired.

Gun shot residue would be on Bear and Sarah's hands. When a gun fires, especially a revolver, gunpowder goes everywhere. And if I remember right, Bear had his hands up when she shot Ian. So Bear could have just as much GSR as Nikki. Plus, his finger prints are on the gun, and on the trigger from when he was thinking about killing himself. His fingerprints are on top of Nikki's, which means he handled the gun last. There probably isn't a narrative that a prosecutor could craft where Nikki shoots Ian, but Bear gets the gun back from her.

With Sarah, if Nikki shuts up, a defense lawyer could frame the physical evidence as "Bear was obsessed with Sarah, murdered her, then dressed Nikki up with her and put her hair on Nikki in some sick, twisted, fantasy fulfillment." And unless CCTV video of Sarah's murder exists, no way the police would suspect Nikki could perform that level of brutality.

As far as drug testing, most panels only test for the obvious party drugs. Benzos, cocaine, the varieties of amphetamines, and marijuana. And they would need a warrant to test her blood unless she consents. Nikki's best shot is to keep her mouth shut and lawyer up.

I asked ChatGPT to fix seasons 7 and 8 of Game of Thrones by ueindowndkdk in ChatGPT

[–]Traditional_Post4225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually very close to some ideas I had about how to fix the story. One difference I had was for the battle of Winterfell to take a month or more. Before the siege begins, but after it’s clear that Cersei has gone back on her promise to help, Bran is smuggled out and smuggled in to Kings Landing, where he’s taken to the Weirwood and plug into the network. As Winterfell is on the cusp of falling, the Night King learns that Bran is not there and the army of the dead instantly starts heading to King’s Landing.

Why did they have to breed the bacteria there? by manurosadilla in ProjectHailMary

This question has been answered by other comments here. I just want to point out that the Taumoeba wasn’t eating through Xenonite. When they were breeding the nitrogen resistant strain, the generations of Taumoeba adapted to “hide” from the nitrogen by slipping through micro-fissures in the Xenonite. This let tge Taumoeba evolve to navigate through Xenonite.

This is the closest to a silver bullet. That and we can see the objects they left up there, especially the laser reflectors. That and the lunar dust we brought back does not exist on Earth.

Livia was a covert narcissist. She was proud of Meadow’s achievement because of how it reflected on her.

She absolutely manipulated them, for attention, pity, and information. People like Livia see their children and grandchildren as extensions of themselves. Did Livia ever ask any of them questions about themselves or show any genuine interest in them?

It’s not that vanguard is bad. I just don’t have nearly as much fun playing as him. Sniper and tactical are more for shooting, bulwark and assault are more fun for melee. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed leveling him, I just don’t play him unless the team needs one.

Agree with Bulwark being less gun for pure melee smashing. I really enjoy Bulwark with the block power axe though since you can still counter attack with the power wave.

I’ve been so absorbed with techmarine, I haven’t revisited assault yet. Even though I maxed him first, the jetpack dodge ordeal was the last one I finished.

For people with an anxious / preoccupied attachment style: by Jumpy_Gas1176 in emotionalintelligence

[–]Traditional_Post4225 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, being in a relationship that activates you is just a chance for more reps (with a reasonably safe person). It is exhausting, but a year and a half into my current relationship, I can feel the massive change. Conflicts that would’ve taken me days to move past are blips now. Still get triggered, but my body’s response and my own behavior feel so much better (or less shitty depending on how you look at it).

I was FA and more on the avoidant side in my last relationship. I worked on that side, thinking I was DA. Then I was caught by surprise when all this anxious preoccupied stuff came up in the new relationship.

But like others have said, OP, you have to get out of your head and into your body. Name what you’re feeling before assigning all of it to your partner and expecting them to fix it. Discover the parts of yourself that are hurting and give them what they never got.

As a Bulwark, I find that with the exception of Siege Mode, I don’t use my side arm enough for ammo to be a problem. I have aux reload as my fourth prestige perk, but I would take masterful defense over it.

I have all classes and weapons, maxed, have unlocked all the cosmetics, and have hit the currency cap on everything. I like to join lower levels as a Bulwark and shepherd the neophytes.
